RE: Tenporary version expiry December 1 2008

I am having exactly the same issue except that I have re-loaded ANW onto my new PC. I still have the original sales Invoice from Digital River dated 13/07/2006 Invoice number 1618285795 as proof of purchase.
How can I get this re-registered?

Regards

RE: 3.9 Colours Problem

Hmm. Thanks. I will try this suggestion and see what happens. The problem does not occur all of the time so is difficult to diagnose properly. Thanks for the reply.

3.9 Colours Problem

<t> While playing a scenario (happens in tutorials as well) the screen colours reset after an indeterminate number of turns. Attempted to select a different scheme to re-set colours but has no effect. Am playing full screen, not windowed at 1280 * 1048 resolution. Nvidia 7600 Graphics with latest ...

RE: Why I make Such Heavy Weather of Guadalacanal

<t> Perhaps (I am playing devils advocate again here!) the single decisive part of the entire Pacific Campaign was Dec 6th. Even if the US carriers had been destroyed at Pearl then the Japan would still have lost eventually. It would only be a matter of time before American industry replaced her ...

RE: The Firepower Kings: The Americans

<r> Good points. I wonder if Irwin is talking here about "final defensive fire"? <I><s></s>I freely admit it. The Americans could, at times, shield themselves behind a virtual wall of high explosives.<e></e></I> Certainly the US forces in late WW2, Korea and Vietnam seemed to be very good at ...

RE: The Firepower Kings: The Americans

<t> Could the American advantage in firepower be more down to better tactical communications or supply chains? What I mean to ask here is, were U.S formations actually heavier in Arty tubes than say German or even other allied? Or, is this simply a logistics advantage? i.e more / better ammo supply ...

RE: The Most Effective Rifle of WWII?

<t> Sorry gents but am going to have to disagree with you (if only in principal). The No 1 Mk 3 SMLE in all of&nbsp;its versions is by far the better infantry rifle.&nbsp; Its accuracy, durability and lethality are all unparalleled. I cannot argue that the M1 had a higher rate of fire which would ...

RE: Arnhem and Nijmegen map wanted

I have copies of a couple of maps from a book about Market Garden. Let me have youe e-mail address and I'll send them as .pdfs if you still want them. They are both tactical level, diagrams but show streets and buildings in the immediate area of the bridge if that is what you need.

<t> Thanks, point conceded although, could it not be true that&nbsp;some defenders&nbsp;reporting their place of origin, as San Antonio, or MO,&nbsp;for instance, might have been actually born elsewhere? cannot verify this but...I seem to remember reading that most of the defenders of the Alamo had in fact been born in Britain? Does this mean that we Brits can claim The Alamo as another of our glorious defeats?

If you want to play with miniatures then I can thoroughly recommend "Smoke on the Water" as a set of rules and the ships made by B&B Miniatures are fabulous! "Never mind the torpedos...full steam ahead!"

Today being "Trafalgar Day", perhaps it would be a good day to announce the AOS/Ironclads follow up?

Forget sail, Lets have ironclads?

<t> AOS was quite good but has been done. IMHO ACW riverine combat with ironclads would be lots more fun; Clouds of black smoke, prototype submarines (Hunley), Rams, Tinclads and Cottonclad Sidewheelers would be a hoot, especially with proper sailing ships, schooners, blockade runners and shore ...

You might like to take a look at: http://www.totalwar.com and check out the ROME version due out this autumn. The Medieval version is horribly addictive and the 3D battles are pretty good. The Viking Invasion Add on is a must though.
