RE: Disappearing Save Files

Resolved. Only thing I can think of was some issue with Steam and syncing game files to my PC. I kept making back-up copies of the turn files and all seems well now...

Disappearing Save Files

<t> Ok, having an issue with save files disappearing. Last save turn I can find is the Axis turn 80. I've played several turns since then, made sure auto save is on, checked to make sure it is saving. BUT, after I close the game then go back in, the save files are gone and the latest is the turn 80....

RE: How to use Bomber Command

Thanks for the replies. Managed to get a Minor Victory as the AI strongly garrisoned the Western Front at the expense of the Eastern one and the Soviets took Berlin the second week of March. One major mistake I made was not setting all the Bomber Command groups to Night Only. Duh!!!

How to use Bomber Command

<t> OK, with the hype around WitE 2, reread a bunch of the tips/tricks and fired this back up. Going pretty good except for Bomber Command. I try to manually set their AD's in the radar range but they still get slaughtered, averaging over 100 losses per week, and I fly them at most one week a month....

10 Years and Counting

<r> My long-time nemesis reminded me that as of this month we've have 10 years of PBEM games going on. We started way back in the UV days, then WiTP, and now the Admirals Edition. Thanks Bill (Bilbow) for many great games, and more that a few beatings <E>:)</E> And thanks to Matrix for the games and...

RE: AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 04/01/46

<t> I was Japan. I got very lucky in two straight carrier battles that greatly set my opponent back. Game ended in a decisive victory for Japan w/this turn. Fighting was going on in the Home Islands, the PI, and in Java. Russia was pushing hard down the Korean penisula. Most of the IJN fleet carrier...

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 04/01/46

<t> Since I'd think most games wouldn't last this long, thought I'd post the combat report from 4/1/46. And fyi, this is from the original War in the Pacific, not AE. Congrats to my opponent for a most enjoyable game that went through lots of life changes for the both of us...<br/> <br/> AFTER ACTIO...

Price???

Ok, I can't find the price on this anywhere. Has one been set yet? $29.95, $39.95, $49.95, $59.95? I loved the old General games, and am really interested in this one.

Wanted - Novice German Commander

<r> Ok, looking for a novice German commander, given my performance in my current PBEM game. Full FOW, either 1.03 or 1.04, weather open to random or non-random. Please PM or email - <EMAIL email="mbatchpbem@att.net">mbatchpbem@att.net</EMAIL>. Can usually do 5 or so turns a week. Looking for someon...

1st Winter German Attrition Loses

Ok, since I can't search the forum and am too impatient to read thru every thread, I'll ask. What are the average attrition loses suffered by German players in the first winter? Trying to judge how badly I'm doing :-)

RE: p-38E in 9/42

<t> Nope. I've had the same thing happen over and over and over and over again. I can't find anyway to stop them. I've broken units up, stacked them at various altitudes, mixed fighter types, etc., and nothing can halt the slaughter. Two turns ago, over 60 fighters on CAP got attacked by 18 P-38's. ...

RE: High Altitude Sweep Rant

<t> In answer to some of the inquiries, this was the first turn the group had flown. They had been on R & R at a behind the lines base for a while. Don't know what the defensive ratings of the pilots were.<br/> <br/> If this had been an isolated event, I wouldn't have brought it up, but would ha...

High Altitude Sweep Rant

<t> Ok, been away from the forums for a while, but understand from my opponent that there is debate going on about high altitude sweeps. Below is a typical result from our game. And even though the results say 12 lost, it was actually 20. His high altitude sweeps are KILLING my fighters. The below g...

Yes, so feel free to offer any advice. I've been staying off the forum to avoid the temptation of reading Don's AAR.

Soviet Fleet in Action

Since it may be a while before most folks see the Russian Fleet in action, thought I'd post this screen shot.
