Thailand

<t> I couldn't find any topic on this in a search of this forum, but can anyone confirm the current rules for Thailand's entry? The manual says 50% chance per turn to join Axis once the Axis player occupies both Hong Kong and Indochina. I did both of those requirements against the AI and waited turn ...

RE: What is your dream (digital ) game or games?

<t> Deep, WEGO (or even turn-based), hex-and-counter strategic level Civil War and Napoleonic Wars. Frank Hunter's game came closest for the ACW but still far off. Almost flabbergasted that no Nappy game like this has ever existed (no, the Commander series game I refuse to count). Seems to be highly ...

RE: $3.472 mil gross: Potential Market for WW2 multiplayer strategy game

<r> For guys like you and me that is a slam dunk but apparently the PC wargame publishing world has passed us by. For the life of me I'll never understand how the majority of today's wargamers have entirely bought into the notion that newer is better and the classic hex and counters systems are ...

The biggest problem with game balance is that most players (not me) want the Axis to stand an equal chance of winning the War. Or at least they want the Axis to have good odds of pulling off a successful Sealion and conquering the Middle ...

I've been looking for a good PC golf game for a long time. You'd think it would be simple! This one has mixed reviews, with the negative ones complaining about putting mechanics. I loved the PGA Tour games on the Sega Genesis..LOL

Nice map, Panzer Mike. The eastern front looks so much closer to what you always see in military history books. Moscow is actually a rail nexus now! and with a direct connection with Smolensk.

Possibility of separate PBEM & vs. AI version of 1939-45 Scn?

<t> Alvaro,<br/>
The player vs. AI playthroughs I've perused online all still seem to be showing the Red Army melt away in the face of German early and mid war attrition. With the current state of the scenario "balanced" for PBEM play, would you consider adding a separate Play vs. AI full war ...

RE: Encircled by Enemies (PBEM gwgardner vs Chocolino)

I was just reading a book by David Stahel, a major East Front historian, and he documented Soviet/British/American talks regarding deploying western armed forces to fight on Soviet soil in the Caucasus in 1942. Of course, it never happened, but it seems Stalin wasn't opposed to it.

RE: Burns vs. Flaviusx

Jim,
I find the impotence of the Red Army disturbing. If the so-called "balanced" nature of the game means a cautious/judicious Axis player like your opponent can just grind the Red Army down with impunity, then that's not good.
