Any plans for PvP?

If this has been asked before my search-fu failed to find it.

If this game really aspires to be the next Steel Panthers, it needs a PvP mode. Are there any plans to develop one? Perhaps based on the WEGO optional mode?

RE: WPO under Linux?

Supposedly WitP:AE works in wine, so maybe WPO would, too?

EDIT- though, on WineHQ forums a guy named Morgoth posted in AUG2010 that he was having problems. Is that you?

RE: Linux

<t> Well, I can't get the damn thing to run in Cedega, either, even though they list it as a supported program. I keep doing everything the (very anemic) help file says to do and all that happens is my screen goes black for a couple of seconds. I have a support request in to them, but from reading ...

RE: Linux

Hi, I'm back in town again.

I looked into Cedega a while ago, and yes I see that they list SPWAW as supported, but isn't it a monthly fee service? I'm not thrilled about paying $5 per month just to play an otherwise free game. Ot\r can I just buy it once?

Yeah, as I mentioned I'm working on Wine. I am, however, running into the usual beginners problems with Linux- mainly that there is a steep initial learning curve. Also, although ...

Linux

<t> Ok, ok, I know that it is not commercially viable but someone (a better man than I) really needs to make a SPWAW version that runs on Linux. Assuming, of course, that Matrix's liscence permits it. This need not be a Matrix member, just give the code to some diehard Linux weenie and let him run ...

RE: How did you find Matrix? How's the relationship going?

<t> Egad, I think it was early 2001. My college room-mate and I had comitted finals seppuku playing SP (SSI versions) instead of studying for several terms in a row. I got on the net and did a search for SP to look for patches and voila! Matrix pops up!<br/>

Wives

I think the sounds can be troubling at times. For instance when my wife hears them as she passes my office door she knows I'm not studying. Thus I often play with the sounds off, my monitor turned away from the door, and a stack of papers in front of me. :D

Condition of the Museum?

<t>Have you ever read Charles Winchester's "Ostfront: Hitler's War on Russia 1941-1945?" It is an admittedly superficial examination of the subject, but he seems to dwell extensively on the issue of collaboration in the occupied Soviet Union and how the Germans succeeded in alienating many who would ...
