Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

Appreciate all of the forum member responses. Still going through a slow learning curve. Have been paying more attention to cpp (cross swords).

Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

hadjimj, you have given some good advise and I had not given consideration to the need to airsupply to the newly set up airbases. Believe this was also recommended in an AAR that I read, only after reading your post. So hardly a 'rambling' post, not sure the same can be said of some of my own posts ...

Maintaining Offensive Momentum

Slowly getting back into playing the game. Right now Road to Leningrad is probably about the scope of what I can manage. After reading HLYA AARs and DekeFentel's GT1 North and Center guide have had reasonable success/penetration of the initial defensive line and making good pockets by routing the ...

Re: How steep the learning curve compared to CMO?

I always tell people WWITE2 is the most complex wargame I've ever played, but also the easiest to learn (among the proper games anyway). As Markshot says, the secret is set the air and supply to AI and just have a go. I recommend the Road to Leningrad as German against the AI, its a great scenario ...

Re: Air War Manual Control a Newbie Struggle

In fairness to Matteo Bossa his guide was for the 1st turn Axis air set up. But I am currently just experimenting with launching the 1st turn air strikes on Road to Leningrad to get a sense of what results in the best outcome with minimal losses.

Please, take into account that my guide was ...

Re: Air War Manual Control a Newbie Struggle

I have played that many times.

I only fly recon when I need to make a decision. Most recon questions for that scenario can be guessed with 80% accuracy.

I only use my fighter/bomber assets for ground support, and only for late scenario critical battles (toggled). Get there fast.

I manage my SUs ...

Air War Manual Control a Newbie Struggle

Folks -

getting back into this monster of a game again. Watched one of Matteo Bosso's videos which was highly informative. Playing Road to Leningrad, figured a good way to get things started and manageable.

Anyhow using manual control got what seemed look too many Ju-88s shot out of the sky. Think ...

PS - Make sure you understand supply and how ports work (closing many of the ports on the coast in NE Germany)

Could you elaborate further on this comment? Have been lurking in the forums, looking to read the posts of those who are knowledgeable about this game in an effort to get back into ...

Re: Looking to get back into playing recommendations on how to quick to get started

Context played WiTP and WiTE1. Recall WiTE1 it was easy to abuse HQ build up. Have started looking at AARs. Hardluckagain seems to have nice, detailed step by step walk through

Looking to get back into playing recommendations on how to quick to get started

Like the title states, looking to get back into playing this. I remember struggling mightily with the air mode under manual control. So what does the forum at large recommend for getting back into playing this monster of game?

Had been playing a lot of Hearts of Iron IV. Finally just the absurdity ...

Re: Emperor of the Fading Suns Mod

Seeing this brought on a wave of nostalgia, and of playing the Emperor of the Fading Suns video game, which appears to be the source of the graphics. Would be fantastic if Vic could somehow work out a Fading Suns variant of the game, especially as he moves forward with his development plans.

New Zones

How best to manage new zones? It seems that when I make these they become hotbeds of unrest, even spawning rebels. They become difficult to make happy through QOL improvements since low number of workers production. I have figured out how to colonize, but overall there doesn't seem to be the rate of ...

Re: War in the East 2, A Newbie Struggle

I can better manage the air-force, at least in terms of moving AOGs forward. Still struggling to dominate the air in a meaningful way. Seemed to lose bombers at a staggering rate, but have ensure that they don't fly unescorted. The Soviets seem to just have an endless supply of aircraft and material ...

Re: War in the East 2, A Newbie Struggle

There is definitely a lot more to this version of War in the East compared to the first. The panzer ball, headquarters build up made things fairly easy, once you figured it out.

Going to have learn how to pace better. HLYA had a very informative post on his Axis Turn 1 GC with Rovno pocket. I ...

Re: War in the East 2, A Newbie Struggle

Have figured out how to relocate air groups. But still struggling with proper air force management.

Had fighters brought forward but they failed to escort a ground attack mission, end result two KGs shot up so bad as to be combat ineffective for the rest of the scenario.

Have been learning some ...

Re: War in the East 2, A Newbie Struggle

I finally had to read the manual...still struggling though, with other aspects of the game.

Have watched a couple of Matteo Bosso videos, his seem to be most informative. Strategy Dojo is more of a streaming personality/entertainment, also seems to ramble.

I'm having a hard time with rail ...

War in the East 2, A Newbie Struggle

So, picked this up over the Steam summer sale. Have watched a ton of videos, finding some are okay, others seem to run to long and are more so a platform for the video maker to monetize views.

Anyhow, have been gradually figuring out manual air-mode. Can get decent first turn strikes off, this is ...

I have spoken to the developers yes. It seems at first they will plan for tactical side of things because, well, that's the focus of the game and with their budget and manpower all that's realistic for the first volume. They do have plans if ...
