Windows 7 and WITP

<t> OK. I have looked, but I can’t find the answer already Posted. If I get myself a new laptop running Windows 7, will WITP run on Win 7? Or will I have to pony up for Admiral’s Edition? I know Win 7 is not specifically listed as a supported OS, but will it run? Has anybody had any experience (good...

I never watch the animations. Time to move on to decision making and issuing orders. And in reference to another thread.... It would be nice to be able to turn off the pilot action messages (pilot killed, pilot gets 4th kill etc...) They take quite a while to run.

<t>I don't see the 2.11 patch on the downloads page either. And I do not know what to do with the Port, Login and Password info in David Heath's Posting. Can anyone tell me how to use that info to access the FTP site? Looks like it is mostly a matter of including that info in the ftp address, but I ...

<t>Every patch you ever downloaded via True Update is still there in your UV folder and can be set aside and saved for future use. I do not have the game in front of me right now, but I do belive the subdirectory is called Patches, or something very much like that. Personally, I am moving away from ...

<r>Try minimizing AOL, launch another browser like IE or Netscape. maybe True Update will run in IE rather than AOL. Not sure but may be worth a shot. Otherwize, DL it from the UV Downloads page (URL below) and run the patch manually. Me - I still run AOL 4.0, the last non-OS-invasive version and I ...

Crash to Desktop

<t>Anyone experiencing these? They seem to happen at any time, while right clicking (on anything), while left clicking, while the AI is resolving battles, etc. I use to see one once in a great while on version 1.4; maybe once every 6 to 24 hours of game play, but now it can be quite frequent. The ra...

Could Laskan not simply reassign any other naval air squadrons to his carriers even if they are currently based at airfields to get his carriers back in action? Or am I misunderstanding how this game works? Or are there no available LB naval air groups in this scenario?

<t>I've had numerous CDTs now that I am back playing regularly. (I just could not continue play under 1.4 knowing that any big decisive carrier battles could never be completed). I see no pattern to them. The CDTs seem to come at any time, sometimes when I click on something, sometimes when I am jus...

<t>Toro, Have your carrier lockups ended with 2.0? I have seen one CTD since loading 2.0. No carrier lock ups. That CDT was at about 4 hours total game time since patching, an hour game time after booting up for the day. I was definitely NOT clicking on task forces at the time. In fact, I was watchi...

<t>OK. I'll try to answer my own question. Yes, I think that Patching to version 2.0 from 1.4 may have fixed my carrier lock-ups. (A few of us have had to deal with these). I also noticed the patch seemed to change the logic of game turn resolution. I have two files that would reliably demonstrate t...

Carrier battle lock ups and v 2.0

Just wondering, Has anyone who was experiencing the carrier battle lock-up phenomenon patched up to version 2.0 and if so, have you seen any difference in the bahavior of your system as regards these lock-ups?

A question to those able to run large carrier battles without a lock-up

<t>Some of us can not engage in decisive carrier battles because the game locks-up while these battles are being resolved. Other, smaller battles seem to run fine. We're looking for a trend regarding hardware (video cards etc...) and software (for example operating systems) to help identify the caus...
