Chris,

Thanks a million -- I had a feeling that that was the case. Well, it's time to smash the piggy bank and buy a new system, or find a giant magnifying glass! It will be worth it for the lessened eye strain alone.

Is anyone having trouble with the screen size/resolution of KP? I can barely nmake out the units, map details, etc. and I can't seem to get a larger screen. My monitor is probably the problem, but I remember playing TAO2 without this problem, and I thought KP would look just ...

Marc,

A CTX model -- not sure of the number. I think it's just time for a total upgrade, as my system is near the five-year old mark. It's fine for UV and the Panzer Campaign games, but not a lot of the new games.

Thanks

I bought KP today, but on my 15" monitor the units, text and map are blurred and the game is nearly impossible to play. I have tried adjusting the screen resolution, but nothing seems to work. <br/>

I picked up my copy at CompUsa in Manhattan (57th/B'way) this afternoon, and they had plenty of copies left on the shelves. I think the store on Queens Boulevard also has it ready for sale. We need to make KP a best-seller so that "Kursk," "Normandy," "Bagration," and a few ...

Little-known war film

One of the best I've seen is "The Winter War." It's a Finnish film from the early 80's (I believe) that depicts the Soviet Invasion of '39 and the heroic efforts of the Finnish Army in holding the line against the Red Army. It's very realistic, and it gets to the combat fairly ...

"Genghis Khan II" was a hell of a lot of fun and a challenging, as well -- look for it on one of the "Definitive" wargame collections put out by SSI some years ago. I think the disk has Romance III on it. Another great strategy game, and turn-based.<br/>

As one of the few masochists attempting a PzC Normandy campaign (the 750 turn monster), and having played 4 of the five games in the series, I must say that PATIENCE is the key to enjoying the PzC series. There's an awful lot of "logistics" involved -- basically sorting out ...

<t>Harpoon3 is a great, detailed modern naval warfare game. The series has been a favorite of mine for years, and "3" has keep me up till the wee hours many times. There's a lot to learn in it, but I think it's comparable to UV in it's learning curve and depth. <br/>

<t>I may get flak for this pick, but I have to cast ny vote for the Eastwood movie with Telly Savalas and Carol O'Connor (can't remember the title and saw just the last 1/2 hour or so). Much appreciated

<t>Thanks, Goblin -- that's good to know. I did lose several engineers in the landing, and some more casualties may have occured in barrages. I forgot how quickly they add up. <t>Hello all,<br/>

I just finished a U.S. v. Vichy French scenario -- amphib. assault -- as the first battle in a WWII campaign. I wiped the floor with the French, took their obj. hexes and destroyed the HQ in short order. The enemy knocked out two of my tanks, a halftrack, and maybe three ...

"The Inner Circle"

<t>If I can throw another two cents in..... I highly reccommend the movie "The Inner Circle," which is -- I think -- about ten years old. It is the story of Stalin's private film projectionist. Bob Hoskins played Beria and looked exactly like him, and the film as a whole was very good. It powerfully ...

I am watching the series as I write this, and it is very good. I think the NKVD man was named Sudaplatov, and he authored a book a few years ago regarding his service and the Venona revelations. ( I need to double-check my spelling on these names, but I think I am close ...
