Wierd? It's downright ridiculous!

<t>There's nothing wrong with aircraft bombing an AA unit per se. But in my current game they do it to the total exclusion of every other unit there, they do it again and again on every bombing raid, and inflict usually around 10 men casualties no matter how large the raid so they can never actually ...

Ground Bombing routine is rubbish

<r>I'm still playing this great game but am posting this thread out of sheer frustration with the silly way the game decides results of Ground Attack missions.<br/>
<br/>
The game makes one unit take all the damage of a raid, while all others escape unscathed. Example: In a current PBEm game I have ...

Looks promising, but I miss the old national objective flags like in the original. Hope they make in back into the game instead of the omniprescent White Star.

A simple fix to give us perfect Surface Combat actions

<r>One thing which is obvious to anyone who has watched a few Surface Combats is that the action proceeds in rounds - with probably 3 or 4 rounds taking place at altering ranges. It is also obvious that the AI works out which ships have sunk at the very end of the round before proceeding onto the ...

Prompted by the new patch I continued my PBEm game and with the same situation and am still seeing nothing flying out of ...

<t>The Japanese Long Lance torpedo had an enormous range (30,000 yds plus?), I'm sure they could be, and were, launched at very long ranges. <br/>

However, like you say I would think that deciding to launch at 20,000 yards range would certainly lessen the hit chances, which is a worry because ...

Anyone form Matrix available?

Thanks to those who continue to try to help me here, but I feel that we are guesstimating a lot of the time.

The Matrix guys seem quiet on this, any chance of some input Erik & Co?

If the weather is calculated on a hex-by-hex basis, does anyone have access to the actual figures of the % chance of scrambling and the % of finding the target. Eg. Thunderstorm - 30% chance of takeoff, 30% chance of finding a target. I'd really ...

Weather & Naval Attack - 2 Questions

<t>1) Could anyone please advise exactly how the weather routine works in the game? Is the map actually sub-divided into different weather regions which we do not see? Or perhaps the overall weather condition report at the start of each turn gives each sortie a % chance of being cancelled?<br/>

Owch - just seen it myself

<r>Just to confirm what Black Cat and others have said. In my current PBEM game I had a USN 2 CV TF attempt to strike a IJN 3 CV TF and inflict almost no damage on the first day, but as usual lose masses of Dauntlesses to the horrendous flak. <br/>
<br/>
Therefore I ordered the CV TF out of there ...

Defensive Mines

After more hours of play there is no doubt that Offensive minefields are working, indeed they are deadly. But, Defensive minefields are causing no hits in either my PBEM games or my Single Player game.

This needs investigating.

Another Vote

FWIW I'm in the system damage accrues too quickly camp. The real problem is that once your ships start to slow down they become much easier targets in their next action.

I'd be much happier with a slower damage routine or a quicker repair routine.
