Re: repairing bridges wacht am rhein / frozen units?

These are the kinds of things that should be abstracted out imo. You are making the people who know how to do it do a chore and you are adding a lot of frustration and confusion to those who don't.

Re: Retreating is Very Difficult

If you try to retreat in the face of the enemy, you will get hit hard. It is best to retreat before the enemy can bring the full weight of their fire on you. If you do have to pull out, you better use lots of smoke and fire on the enemy while you are moving back. This was true in Red Storm and is ...

Re: Retreating is Very Difficult

Agree. Also I always have my units SOP on relocate "never" because they always get into big trouble when relocating. They take weird paths that often get them into more trouble or like you said just get destroyed. I'd rather have them stand and fight or drive on out of trouble.

I think there should ...

This game is easy to get into

This game is relatively easy to get into. I greatly appreciate this. I order my units to do things and they mostly do them. I tried to figure out how to call an artillery strike and it took almost no time to figure out and the artillery strike went off without a hitch. I expected to have to go to ...

Re: Shocked by Soviets Mot. Inf close combat efficiency

Soviet formations do seem very powerful up close. Many times I'll put a few NATO units in what I feel is decent defensive ground and they will get steamrolled with ease. No clue of this is correct or not. I do feel like it maybe should be tougher to root inf out of urban locations.

That said I have ...

Re: Undo Function?

It would be nice if there was an undo for the research chits. Currently if you raise then lower it in the same turn you don't get the full MPPs back.

Night time?

What do you guys do with your units at 0:00?

My first inclination is to let the men sleep for godsake but I'm not sure that's optimal or even what would actually happen in game terms. What do?

RE: Desert War: Why Didn't You Buy?

I looked at screenshots and felt that it was just another wargame that was ugly, difficult to play due to poor UI, and probably had poor AI. I just expect more from my wargames these days.

Does the AI attack at all?

I have played a few games thus far and have yet to see the AI attack me or another AI player. Am I missing something?

<t> Yeah I found it to have quite a bit of depth. Certain things like industry and politics are abstracted to a degree but combat outcomes relies on many, many factors. It took me about 2-3 days to really understand everything that was going on.<br/>

I think it would be cool if Belgian Neutrality were&nbsp;not violated that the British populace would not have quite the tolerance for casualties that they did historically.

RE: How many of you wonder the way I do?

<t> I have currently been marveling at the human capacity for self deception. When you really think about how much we decieve ourselves in our every day lives it kinda blows your mind. We see it every day in others and it is so comforting to decieve ourselves that it really doesn't get much notice ...

<t> Please, oh please, please, re-do Close Combat 2.&nbsp; This was by far the most challenging and fun Close Combat game.&nbsp; The way it simulated the drive to Arnhem and the desperation to get to the Red Devils in time created a lot of suspense and upped the importance of each battle and unit ...
