Re: Hirohito's Honor

************************************************************************************************************

So, people are always asking me why I don't play PBEM. Well, it's simple. Here I am writing an AAR on a game that I haven't been able to run a turn in over a month. Life happens a lot to ...

Accelerate your CVs and DDs . . .

Yes. Priorities for acceleration. If (when) it's an option for you, good ASW vessels are very valuable for the Japanese post-1942. Some of the "Number class" of ASW patrol vessels for the Japanese start coming in in late 1943-early 1944. Finally good depth ...

Re: What was I thinking?

But I believe that it is best not to expand/repair refineries for the Japanese at this time, maybe later you can do so. Oil doesn't spoil but fuel does spoil but there is a limit to how much oil can be stored at an oil producing base. You will need the fuel in the DEI area so you probably should ...

Re: What was I thinking?

Hopefully I can be here by mid march at the latest, worrying about the amphib bonus and I want troops on ground before I lose that.

Don't know why I waited a month of real time to go back over this post again in my mind, but here it is: March is too late to secure Rabaul. If you wait until the ...

Hey Chickenboy~ long time no "see"!

How are things? Many of the old timers still around?

Howdy yourself!

There's still a few oldsters around and more that swing by for a drive-by every now and again. Hope you have been well.

Here are the aircraft I have used so far (and the numbers):

To each their own and there's no accounting for taste and all that. But I only produce a handful of Oscar IIa, preferring the Ki-44-IIc in nearly every way. If'n it were me (and it ain't), I would not be producing any Ki-44-IIa, would ...

Re: Imperial Tide: DW (J) vs Nemo (A)

DW, is this Scenario 1 or 2? If 2, the Ki-44IIA-C series of fighters uses the Ha-35, along with the A6M series for the IJN. I've found these two lines to account for most of my Ha-35 production.

Big fan of the Ha-35/Ki-44IIA-C combination. It's one of the best point defense and dogfighting ...

Re: Never Thought I'd Start Another One - tc464 (A) vs. Mike (J)

I never risk any IJ CV type without the latest fighter on board. In general, they upgrade before any LBA, but in any case stay in port until they have the latest fighter embarked. In a very early game, I got anxious and sent my CV's into battle without the latest and got my A___ handed to me big ...

I think that the best land battles are when the enemy transports are loaded with troops when they are sunk. I think that sinking ships loaded with aircraft are the best air battles as well.

Re: Getting back into WITP after 13 years

I've been away from War in the pacific since 2012 and I'm getting interested again. My "old" version is 1.120b from 2012 and I installed 1.126a today.

I have a few question I hopefully can get answered.

1. I have a custom scenario - no map updates but added ships and probably modified some ...
