Re: Port attack - house rule versus AI

They did bomb Rabaul at night with B-17s during 1942. Those aircraft aimed and drop one bomb at a time at only a few thousand feet altitude. I believe one plane hit more than one ship and sank at least one ship. This was ended because the US Army got more twin engined bombers in the area. So it is ...

Re: THE THREAD!!!

Howdy! Since you are in the Lone Star state, did you do this? First off, that's a dairy cow-actually a young bull. Second off, if you'll note from the frigid wasteland behind this dairy bull, that's not from Texas, but rather some Gawd-forsaken Northern ("Yankee") state somewheres. While ...

LRCAP of naval ships with Army aircraft vs. Navy aircraft

Like a lot of other esoterica about this game, I *vaguely* remember that LRCAPing a naval TF with army aircraft (USAAF or IJAAF) was less efficient or more prone to mishaps than LRCAPing a naval TF with naval aircraft (USN / USMC or IJNAF). Can someone point me in the right direction if I'm correct ...

Re: how capture island

Hi, playing as an ally in the Battle of Guadalcanal, I've taken units to Russell Island, for example, and they haven't captured them. What could this be? I've taken an infantry unit and an engineer unit, and there aren't any attacks because there seems to be no enemy. Thanks! Lastly, if you sent an...

Re: Strategy Help from Allied Players Only Please--Not my opponent if you dont mind.

What do you do? My plan is to avoid losing my emergency reinforcements piecemeal to KB and just let him have India and try to come back with the USN in a year when I can. Late to the conversation. Sorry. But goodness no-don't give him India. India is the ultimate 'tar baby' for the Japanese. Sure, ...

Thanks all for the detailed answers to the questions! Does anyone know off hand when the E class appears with the radar and better DC throwers....? I'd like to know for future reference. Have a great day all! SuluSea...my man. Long time no see, bud. :D For the most part, Q1 1944 is when they start ...

You are quite possibly referring to Kull's spreadsheets with links to them on his siggie lines?

Re: Just wanted to say thanks

On another note, if there are any beginners out there who want the save file with the entirety of the AE set up instructions implemented I can upload and post a link if you happen across this comment, just shoot me a PM (Although I think working thru some of the excel file helped me learn quite a b...

Re: Just wanted to say thanks

I hope this post is allowed. I'm not sure why I just found WITP:AE, but I'm incredibly glad that I did. I've spent the last two weeks searching the fantastic wealth of knowledge on this forum and I estimate I'm currently about 75% complete with my DEC 8 set up following the excel based guide. I jus...

Re: Japanese Type 3 Mine

I think it is air-deployed mine. Select bomber unit (maybe Betties can carry them), select City attack -> if mines are available, there should be "Mine port" selectable. Note: Also, air dropped mines are an option here if a city with a port is targeted. Air dropped mine missions may not b...

Good morning, you lot. Hope everyone is well. Doing well chickenboy. How are you doing?....GP No complaints, GP. Our household is preoccupied with 'spinning off' the Chickenboys junior to college right about now. Both kids will be heading to different UT schools: one to UTA and one to UTSA. A very ...

Re: Help me love this game!

If it's more a psychological thing, I suggest taking a step back and just enjoying the successes and failures that come with higher level "leadership". Two examples that I haven't been able to stop thinking about: 1)Kuala Lumpur -had a squadron of fighters throwing back everything the Jap...

Re: Looking for Opponent - Closed

Returning player looking to get his hands dirty. More than a decade ago, I had to give up WITP due to work stress and extensive travel. I am retired now and am looking for someone to indulge this old man in a friendly game. I have both v1126b and the v1128 Beta loaded up and ready to go. House rule...
