RE: There doesn't appear to be any strategy to this game

<t> You're definitely wrong. If you don't think combat takes any strategy/tactics, then you're really not paying attention to your weapon techs, skills or those of your opponent. It takes planning, skill and a little luck to take out a corvette with a fighter but it can be done. I got to the end of ...

A certain amount of attrition is assumed in the game. However, all units check for attrition each turn and may suffer hits because of it. There are many factors that impact the chance the unit will suffer from this attrition, and being ...

RE: Any Questions?

Given that more men died from disease during the war, how is such attrition handled? And how is supply handled in the game and what impact does it have? Thanks.

The issue with games like this and even FOF is that while historically set in the timeframe they never or rarely meet historical realism for the battles. There will rarely be a major battle at Gettysburg or a very slim chance of it. Or ...

Where's Missouri? Show me!

I just loaded the game for a look before going to bed and I'm curious - what happened to Missouri? When you look at the map with all the governors, there's a big blank where Missouri is. I couldn't find anything related to Missouri in the game. Did we miss the 13th Confederate state?

How do you make a backup CD when the file is over 700MB. All the CD's I have are limited 700 MB. Nero wont let me burn the disk. ???

You'll have to use a DVD instead I guess :)

RE: Did the South have any chance of victory ?

<t> The South should have used the strategy Johnston used in defending Atlanta and Lee in defending Richmond in 1864, but for the entire war. Fight a slow bloody delaying battle. The South was too obsessed with the cult of the offensive, a strategy for which they did not have the manpower. They ...
