Trouble loading PBEM file

I've tried to get a couple of different PBEM Danube games going with different opponents, but am unalbe to get their PBEM files to load on turn 1. I'm patched to v. 2.2 and my opponents claim to be also. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution?
