Re: Open Beta Patch v1.12i (last update 6 dec)

[MATRIX BETA: DLC disabled by version "i" update followed by crash on load]

I find an odd result after the update to version "i" from version "h", so I tested this twice by backing off and reapplying:

1. A dialog box appears indicating I don't have the DLC.
2. The screen image shows the pre-DLC ...

Automatically assigning priests to any units that do not already have one would be a nice option to be able to enable.

RE: Game forum very silent - and I guess I know why

I am really enjoying the game and find it challenging (which I want). The logistics aspect is much appreciated as it's a very realistic element usually skipped. Vic this is a masterpiece!

Go for it. There are all sorts of different approaches to simulate all sorts of "real world" influences (production constraints, material shortages, lack of centralized coordination, etc.).

RE: Randomly build your OOB

<t> I used the D20 randomness to impact the BUILD ORDER. Both sides get to build the same forces, only the come out in slightly a different order. It's not that big an impact, as the smaller units can be created in one turn (or less) while say a Tank/Cavalry Corps might take 3-4 turns. <br/>

RE: Solo Wargaming using Advanced Tactics

<t> I like to put the history of the war in a book for later nostalgic perusal. Plus, the size of the graphics I use is a bit much for the forums database. But I plan on uploading a few interesting actions with graphics as I encounter them. As strange as it sounds, solo-wargaming is quite a bit of ...

Solo Wargaming using Advanced Tactics

<r> I have an old copy of Donald Featherstones 1972 masterpiece "Solo-Wargaming" (which is still in print). I am able to play a wonderfully fun solo wargame using some simple rules and Advanced Tactics Gold. Basically, I setup up ATG as a two-human player "hot-seat" game and use the rules and a ...

Yup, I'm seeing the same high upgrade costs.&nbsp; Debug info: Random, X-Large Map, 1 human versus 1 standard AI.&nbsp; Remarked few bugs in this game and excellent support.&nbsp; Very pleased with Vics great support.

RE: how does it match upto expectation?

<t> I'm really enjoying playing the game. It's challenging, because it is Macro not Micro-management, which is new to me, and that is what I want - challenges. There is enough complexity and freedom of how to play the game that it is going to take an hour or two to work out the best way to manage ...

First of all, I'm 53, so I go back farther in the 4X games. Now I use to play an EXCELLENT game called "Stars!", from Mare Crisium. The graphics were simple, but the game design and multi-player game play was great. Other than MOO and MOO2 and Firaxis's "Alpha Centauri" there have not ...

RE: AI turns are very long

<t> Just an update here on my 60x60 map game. I've now got about a third of the map uncovered and there are many more units on the screen. Turn length has increased to just under 4 minutes a turn. It turn times increased to over 5-6 minutes I'll likely start over on a 50 x50 map. The large map size ...
