Re: New Public Beta - v1128 Live Now!

They can't give us an update because they are under an NDA? Are you serious? Is this top secrete government work? This whole process has been a joke and anyone involved with this patch should be ashamed.

Seriously Hossjwww30,

Everyone here would like to have received the patch long ago, and so ...

Hey Floyd,

You are too hard on yourself - there were a lot of great design decisions in the original Tracker.

Re: Argh! Scroll Lag is killing me!

Yes, there is an easy solution. This is dependent on the switches used in the properties of your short cut. There is lots of discussion on different switches available in the forum. You will be sinking carriers in no time. A better answer is provided by Google Gemini below. It has gotten ...

Re: IRON MAN SCENARIO

Remember that the AI is short on "I". The scripts are good at the start of the war, but less effective the longer the war goes. Just stay out of the way until you are strong. You can look forward to beating Ironman a few months later than you would on Scenario 2.

Great. What is the supply situation on the west coast? Is the lack of supply preventing you from having a decent game?

Re: US West Coast supply

While we wait for the patch, does this mean the most recent patch is not playable as a PBEM game? Does anyone have a PBEM game underway and what is your experience?

Any comments from people on sweep height restrictions or land troop massing? Not more than 500,000 men in a hex?

House Rules - which are non-negotiable for you?

Which house rules do you insist on to ensure a good PBEM game? I am thinking about another PBEM game in the future and would like to so a survey of House Rules to make a better game.

The overriding rule should be not to do anything gamey, but that is open to interpretation.

Let me know which ...

BBFanboy - I did not know about setting the range to 1, otherwise the TF defaults to ship standoff range. Good to know!

Re: Darwin Supply Woes

Further to Ranger Joe's response that the infrastructure will not allow sufficient supply to flow to Darwin to support a large garrison, you have a couple of other options if the tactical situation works.

1) Stock up Darwin full of supplies before the base are approaches are closed.
2) Use ...

Re: Wow what an upgrade can only dream of a future WITP to include this!

I would file this under, possible but not likely in the near future. Given how long it has taken to get the latest patch out based on traditional development methods, and the limited potential revenue stream, I cannot see this being a priority for the developers.

If you had buckets of money to ...

Re: Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

Welcome aboard! Others will chime in as well but here are my thoughts:

1) Is it necessary and/or helpful to set up TFs to move supplies and fuel from Eastern US, Eastern Canada, and the UK to Capetown or will they 'magically make it there on their own?
You will see in ship arrivals convoys ...

Re: Why no interception?

Time to target when raid was detected was 0 minutes. No opportunity to vector planes to intercept or launch planes ready on stand by. I am guessing the base and ships do not radar yet.

It sucks, but detection is not guaranteed. Radar improves the odds.

The only adjustment you might make is to convert some armaments factories to Armour. Beyond that, it is the same as allies for squads, armaments, armour etc.

What is your experience with Japanese Fighters in 1944+ in PBEM games?

My first ever PBEM game (Scenario 1) has reached July 1944 and so I have had some experience with Ki-84r Frank's and N1K1 George (I messed up production so no later version of George until their historical dates).

What has surprised me is the effectiveness of the N1K1 George in air to air combat ...

Re: [Just a discussion] A game that doesn't run on modern PCs shouldn't cost 80eur?

The short answer to your statement "A game that doesn't run on modern PCs shouldn't cost 80eur?" is I agree, but this is not your typical game purchase.

The longer answer is, despite the barriers to easily start playing with switches and patches to install, it is still a bargain at 80EUR if this ...
