Upgrade to 1.07 asked me about VC++ 2008 again!

<t> Just out of curiousity, the original install already did the VC++ 2008 pre-requisite installation. How come I am asked again when I install 1.07 patch? When I allow it to install, it comes up in maintenance mode. I exit at that point. Games still works.<br/>

RE: Difference between Download and Boxed

Physical copy arrived today by "snail mail" from Los Angeles. Physical manual looks super. I wish I did the same with WITP.

laska2k4 added the "2" to the names of the three classic scenarios and claimed to have improved the map. Other than that, what are the differences?

I have downloaded both but not necessary want to keep them around unless there difference in game play.

RE: Difference between Download and Boxed

Other than pretty pictures. Any charts, rules, tables, etc.?

Since the boxed edition includes download, that way I can download/install while I wait for the box to arrive. Question is: Will I still need the manual once I figure out how to play the game?

RE: Is this the correct setting for wide screen?

I don't play full screen but this setting works good:
"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -w -px1600 -py900 -deepColor -cpu2 -skipVideo -multiaudio -archive

My laptop resolution is 1920 x 1080.

Stock Map/Data: I can only use the "A" scenarios from Babes.<br/>
Extended Map/Data: the B, C, Small Scenarios, and RA Mode. <br/>

Long range late war IJN carrier raids

<r> Just finished a game vs AI in the full campaign. A-bomb has to be used to hastily wrap things up by late Oct 1945. I am surprised Japanese had only less than 10 AK and TK left at the end. Don't forget USS Bowfin at Pearl Harbor. IMO Bowfin is the most interesting of all when I was there a dozen of years ago. The bookstore beside it was well stocked as well.
