Wouldn't it be great to see a combination of Fighting Steel and UV? I think it would. You could actually opt to direct a naval battle in real time if you liked.

Ohh thanks. So can I assume that those ships are then unloading while burning and still vunerable to my attack?

What about my question regarding sunk transports during an invasion and if the troops onboard make it too shore or drown?

Thanks but I'm not sure that thread answers my question.
It sounds like TF must unload just means the TF leader retired due to presence of my air or surface forces. But Must Unload sounds like they were forced to unload their cargo early somewhere and not just retire.

TF Must unload here?

I keep seeing this message. What does it mean? Why are enemy ships being forced to unload?

Also, if I sink an enemy AP while its attempting to unload troops do any of their troops make it to shore?

thanks

<t>Interesting points concerning scale of play. I like the scale of play in UV and if you're saying you have concerns that a larger scale might be unmanagable that could be so. Maybe not. We'll have to see. Looks like these guys are very good at what they do and I have no doubt WITP will be another ...

<t>Hi Kid, thanks I'll check those games out! <br/>
<br/>
Ross, I understand that WITP is the big brother of UV.<br/>
And that now you know there is a market for such a game you can put more resources into making another one.<br/>
I really enjoy UV and I'm looking forward to WITP.<br/>

<t>Hello Kid,<br/>
<br/>
Thanks for the reply to my post. I hear what you're saying and I understand. It seems when I look over all the games Matrix has for sale and under development that they are all turn based games. Or am I wrong?<br/>

CVEs showing up with no planes?

Playing Operation Cartwheel scenario and 3 CVEs just arrived with no planes? Why would this be? Arnt these small escort carriers? If I load cosairs onto them they will act as any other larger carrier right? But why would they show up in theatre with no planes?

Hello Spooky,

Another excellent point! Research and development for the new game has certainly benefited all UV owners.

Hello Feinder,

Yes I agree with you. Excellent game.
It does have a pretty big learning curve though. But a great game indeed.

Maybe Matrix should give all registered owners of UV an upgrade price to upgrade to WITP?

Is UV a beta test of WITP?

<r>Looking at the screenshots and descriptions of WITP it appears that this new game WITP looks a great deal like UV. It looks like the only differences are new maps and new nationalities. It looks like what I thought UV was going to be when I bought it.<br/>
While playing and greatly enjoying UV I ...

Escort 90% cap

<t>Hi,<br/>
<br/>
Doesn't escort with a 90% cap mean that 90% of the planes will stay to fly a cap mission while the others go off to escort something? Thats the setting I had on a Wildcat sqdn on the Saratoga and when the Japanese bombers attacked not one wildcat was flying cap? Am I missing ...

Thanks TanJ and all.

Hey, any thoughts on how to silence shore batteries? Is it even possible? Shore Bombardments seem to focus on the airfields and produce small casualties in any event. I have never seen any damage done to shore defence units. Have you?

Thanks for the input guys!
Do you usually put a few DDs or a CA with your invasion TF to cover the shore batteries?
