RE: Could SUDG be the next Privateer?

Nah. Try FreeLancer with VictorMod MkII, Total War. Much more engaging. Should be coming out in the next month or so.

Can't disagree with you at all...and I've now got v2.1 crashing pretty regularly (way more conditions than just the ship tow one).

Oh well, I guess I can go back to FreeLancer for a few months, until HalfLife2 shows up (the legit version, that is). ;)

<r>Heheh...most of the bugs you identify as non-hardware bugs can very well be hardware bugs. However, your ID of the comm "bug" in SUDG is in reality a poorly thought out UI issue. Poorly thought out UI is a big problem in PC games and console games alike, not to mention general computer applicatio...

<t>I've rescued a fair number of my ships in these games. While the feature occasionally breaks down (seen ships get dropped off in non-base systems) or is a little strange (stranded ship needs to be told to dock with base???), it hasn't gone bye-bye on me yet. Could just be a matter of time, though...

Come now, this is a SCI-FI game. He'll just orbit the sun a couple of times at warp 8 and presto, you'll have the fix three months ago. :)

Btw...I haven't yet gotten it to crash to the desktop under 2.1, but then again I've only played a handful of games on v2.1.

Request for resolution flexibility

Don't know much about graphics (I'm a lame-o server-side Java / C++ programmer) but it would be sooooo coooool if this game could run in 1024x760, 1280x1024, and up. 800x600 is soooo smallllll. ;)
