Could SUDG be the next Privateer?

Post by MagnetRay »

It would really only require one thing: the option to automate production by your colonies.

Think of the possibilities:

Set the game to maximum complexity, then automate everything. Production, research, mission selection ... everything. (The last two are already options.) Let your AI fight against all the other AI's, while you watch.

Why do this? Because then you could pick one ship for which you'd re-enable complete manual control.

Voila. A dynamic space sim. Fly through the galaxy while a war rages around you. Loot worlds. Engage pirates. Join your allies in a raid on the enemy homeworld. Upgrade your ship, and watch your empire expand with you. Or not.

It's what space sim enthusiasts have been aching for since the days of Privateer.

Shouldn't be too hard to implement. How about it, Andrew?

Nah. Try FreeLancer with VictorMod MkII, Total War. Much more engaging. Should be coming out in the next month or so.

[8|] I think SUDG is of a 4X genre whilst Privateer would fall into the space sim trader, pirate, mercenary type genre.

.....

FWIW, you left off X2 the threat, since that is the latest 'Privateer'.
