RE: Multi Multi PBEM ?

I thought of that too - like maybe one team member plays Paulus and the 6th Army or whatever. But if we do 'pass the save file around' can each team member get some sort of 'action report' to see everything that happened last week?

Editing a game in progress?

<t> I have this game in order - and it will be my third time around with WIP.<br/>
My question is simple. Has anyone figured out how to modify a saved game file so that you could, say, sink a ship or add damage to an airbase?<br/>
<br/>
Why? because I love to use a grand strategy game like WIP to ...

RE: a few quick questions...

OK - I see that the searching is directional but at least you can see the exact location of each serach plane right? That's pretty cool.

<t> I am close to adding this game to my collection. I DID have the original but <br/>

RE: any way at all to edit saved games???

<t> flipper - why so arrogant? security for pbem games could easilly be maintained by using an optional password that one could easilly know when somone has peeked into the saved game file or stop them from peeking in the first place. That way the rest of us could play with the files if we wanted to ...

RE: any way at all to edit saved games???

ecgcx - thanks - you got the idea - inelegant as it may be - but is scuttling the only option? what about just adding damage? it has always seemed odd to me that with all of the scenareo mods and analysys tools around there is no way to simply edit a game in progress.

RE: any way at all to edit saved games???

<t> _Stele - you get the idea. I would never expect the games to automatically update each other and it would probably not be cool for a human to human matchup.<br/>
<br/>
However - I still wish there was an editor so that I could use a WitP combat report to build a SH4 or IL2 single mission, play ...

retrograde question on original CDs

I already own this series and I've gotten most of them to run but when I go to run Napoleon in Russia I get a map load error. I'm using NIR_103 and NIR_dll to upgrade. Does anyone know if these are the right patches? Thanks.

Can't get 32 bit patches to run on old games

i own all of the BG games but when I went to unzip the Tiller 32bit patches I get a map read error when I open a new scenareo.

Are there other patches somewhere that I need to apply? I loaded the game fresh from the original CD.

Thanks.

Are there any utilities for this?

I would like to do a data dump of some kind of a scenareao already in progress so that I can play display certain data on amap such as supply points or troop strength. Has anyone built a utility that can export or edit this kind of data?

Thanks.

RE: help with Privateers Bounty while waiting?

<t> Thanks Ibeam - I tried that but I still freeze up as soon as I go into any scenareo. Must be a graphics thing. My NVidea drivers are probably TOO new for this game or something. Do you know of any age-of-sail type games that DO work? I can't beleive no-one has made a good TACTICAL, top-down game ...

New to Troy - Ant War?!

<t> I didn't expect TOO much from this game given the cost BUT - when I finally reached the tactical 'action' phase of the game I had the option of arranging my troops and then pushing the 'fight' button. Then I sat back and watched what looked like an ant war on my screen with no control over the ...

Possible to Edit a saved game?

Is it possible to edit a game that is in progress - for instance reduce or eliminate tanks or troops or blow a bridge?

I'm interested in this in order to combine Steel Panthers with IL2 sessions.
