first impressions

Well, I've spent the last 5 hours playing w/out reading manual. I've played all the SC's and I know my history. I give it a 8/10 so far. Lots of fun flavor events that seem well-reasoned, requiring hard decisions.

Gave the CSA AI a +1 spotting and played the Apri61 campaign to August 1862. Mucked ...

on the subject of hidden fleets

<t> Yo fellas - in the interests of realism, I think its important for WPP to go easy on the hidden fleets thing. Due to the demands of fueling, maintenance, port calls, radio communication, merchant traffic, fishing trawlers, and a million other things, fleets were rarely "hidden" in the strategic ...

By the time of summer of 44 on-wards Hitler's "no retreat" policy had historically bled the Axis forces white. Axis players usually don't get themselves into Stalingrad situations. Try adding the lost forces of the Sixth Army to Army ...

I don't think they do. I read somewhere in the documentation that USSR and UK never surrender.

Alvaro +1 … you're right on. This is genius-level stuff here. Very impressed with this game, even the AI (for what it is). In MP this will shine gloriously. Your support is terrific, as well.

RE: Naval Model

Yes, I think it does. In practice it's sort of a TF-based hybrid-WEGO system. My LBA often fails to locate, and so do enemy fleets. It's intriguing. Much better than SC.

<t> Interface is clean and crisp, map is nice if bland. Counters are very … SPI, for the grognards among us. I'm sure some mods will drastically improve these things. Unit detail is handy and deep. There's a pretty fair amount going on under the hood in combat, movement, supply. Conquered Poland ...

Don't think they run on Win10 - did you check the website carefully? They were fun back in the day, especially PBEM, but lack AI in the worst way.
