Re: New Public Beta - v1128 Live Now!

I have made a few more changes to the updated scenarios I have worked on so far - Scenarios 1 to 4. I have included an attempt to address the issue with Allied subs not upgrading to handle upgraded mines, though I am not certain whether the data fix I added will work, as well as a few other issues ...

Re: Extra option not in the main menu options screen.

Just wondered if anyone ever noticed this? There is an extra option you can click once the game has started that is not in the options screen in the main menu before starting the game. Auto convert obsolete devices on/off. Wonder why it was never included in the main menu options screen in the ...

My two pesetas.....I am an American, and so don't have a particular connection to the Spanish Civil War like many of our Spanish and European friends do. That being said, this area has always been a personal interest of mine (Civil Wars, by nature, are inherently interesting), and nobody before ...

Matsu class DD the 4 DC are forward...Tachibana 5.

Thanks. I will change the DC facings to rear. I am also revising some of the CA and CL class tonnages to make them more consistent.

I haven't posted here in a while as I have been busy with other stuff, but I have also been working on the ...

I do not think it is compatible as it is a new version but I would not abandon your game just take another port...

Re: TANAKA MOD 10.0 SCACW: EVENTS, TECHNOLOGY, AND BREAKTHROUGHS!

So I hate to be a pain ... really enjoying your mod but I am not understanding how I have not captured Beaufort NC. There does not seem to be anyway to successfully take the port although I have taken the city. What am I missing? Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Never Thought I'd Start Another One - tc464 (A) vs. Mike (J)

Question for the group: How do you train defense for fighter pilots? I know there's a way but, for the life of me, can't remember how. I also know it's pretty slow. Thanks.

You train another ATTACK skill and that will add to defense. I use strafing, but I believe LowNav/LowGround would also ...

Re: What will be the next game?

I've longed for a modernized and reimagined version of Frank Hunter's hex-based ACW game from the late 90s/very early '00s. If the SCW and the entire Pacific theater can be simulated in such a way, then surely the ACW can too, and I'll be waiting with my wallet in hand when it does.

Re: I believe the sell the cotton event is not working?

But since all of these positive events happen it makes the decision to sell the cotton a no brainer since your FS is hardly effected at all! This is the issue!

I believe the "No" decision to selling the cotton is for those players who want to exchange the short term pain (of being short of ...

Re: I believe the sell the cotton event is not working?

I think a lot of the rebound in Fighting Spirit comes from the positive events that come soon after selling the cotton. Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee and North Carolina eventually joining the Confederacy at some point add 20,000 FS altogether. Plus, Richmond as the new national capitol kicks in at ...

Re: I believe the sell the cotton event is not working?

Here is the FS % for CSA on turn 1 vs turn 2 after saying yes to sell the cotton. CSA FS actually goes up from 84% to 89%.

Re: DE 109: Sell the Cotton?

Sorry for the late reply.

Always sell the Cotton.

European intervention is too easily countered by the Union.

Any suggestion to improve this for my mod?

All I can think of at the moment, is maybe adding events that move the Europeans toward the Confederacy.

As it is in the base ...

I believe the sell the cotton event is not working?

After saying yes to selling the cotton I am only seeing the drop to the nation FS set to the nation and not the extra 8000 points from the event? FS then rises to 90%. Thus I see no reason whatsoever to not always say yes to selling the cotton. Which seems to be the consensus:

Re: TANAKA MOD 10.0 SCACW: EVENTS, TECHNOLOGY, AND BREAKTHROUGHS!

SP game. I can't move land or naval units through the naval mine hexes. My .02 naval mines or torpedoes as they were called then are ahistorical as to the effect in your mod. At no point in the American Civil War did naval mines completely prevent ships from moving through the mined areas. I would ...

But what about F Spirit loss? It is a good amount of FS points... a very important fact that should be differencial in CSA favour at the long run...

Not really. It always seems to rebound pretty quickly. By 1864 between holding onto Richmond and Nashville and a few other important points its ...
