Re: Nice Looking Game

Hi All,

I'm watching this title, with great interest.

I like the 32bit maps to be honest. The colours are easy on the eye. The combat sounds do the job.

The only thing that has got me concerned, is the size of the manual. That is some beast lol.

I hope more titles, are in the pipeline ?

Re: Updated maps and scenario (based on the latest beta update)

Hello all. I haven't visited here is a long time, and I haven't had a lot of time to work on WitP stuff for quite a while, but I have finally got to the stage where I can post some updates here for others to access and check out (and test). These are:

Updated game maps (several "versions ...

Re: Why no ship combat like WITPAE?

The programmer's effort was to put a kind of mini-simulator of naval battles into the game.
Which they will gradually develop and improve.
It's not that bad, let's give it more time.

If it is not broken why try to fix it? WITPAE naval battle simulator looks great and plays great.

My suggestion ...

Why no ship combat like WITPAE?

In WITPAE individual ships on the ocean firing at each other looked so great and realistic. Only thing missing was night combat animations as day and night looked exactly the same.

But WIS has ship boxes on an DOS looking plain grey background firing at each other which looks terrible like an old ...

Well, I responded to your DM with another teaser for another hint.

Yes, sometimes we forget things or forget to do things. I don't know what people know so when I mention things I don't mean to offend anybody. But then again, you were an officer . . .

Instead of loading torpedoes into HQs every time that you need them, you can adjust the TO&E to carry them so they will be automatically replaced if the supplies are available.

I thought I did that, but apparently I didn't. That was fixed. Thanks.

By the way, I'm always up for hints. You ...

Re: Fighting Spirit Decay Code Question and Confusion. Strategy Guide wrong?

The guide is correct, just worded a bit awkwardly. Short answer is that the #LEVEL check is a "this level or harder" check, not "only on this level" - eg. the script that has #LEVEL=3 will fire on both Veteran and Expert levels.

From the guide:
War Weariness: -400/turn (-200/turn for the Union AI ...

Re: Movement Oddity

Very hard to tell from this, e.g. Have you changed any relevant settings in your mod, what are the movement penalties of the terrain, and is there mud present?

Perhaps showing the supply levels for the area too might help.

Yes I have modded movement but still thought it odd and we are trying ...

Re: Fighting Spirit Decay Code Question and Confusion

I have made these changes in my mod and decreased to -200. I also added another CSA AI level:

From May 30th, 1861, the Confederacy will receive 200 Fighting Spirit points each
turn that they hold Richmond.

Every turn, the Union will lose 200 Fighting Spirit points representing the effects of

turn that they hold Richmond

Every turn, the Union will lose 200 Fighting Spirit points representing the effects of
war weariness. Note that this will not apply to the Union AI on ...

I've played the mod three times through, twice as Union and once as CSA. All three times CSA victory late 1863. Now, I haven't played since the lateset batch of updates so that's next.

One thing I noticed is that the CSA MPPs are nearly the same level as the Union. Union economic strength never ...

I just got War in Spain and am still reading the manual and going through the editor to try to build an OOB (I know next to nothing about the Spanish Civil War so this will let me understand the troop organization).

My first impressions so far is that it's outstanding. I especially like the way ...

Yes, full German here. Although after 20+ years of living in France, I start to feel and behave more like a Frenchman.^^
Adolf was a quite popular name given to newborn boys in Germany between 1933 and 1942 for some reason. However, in 1943 it suffered a sharp decrease in popularity (wonder why ...
