<t>Boys I am here to tell you, it doesn't matter how many men and planes you can pack into PM, its about keeping them supplied. In #17 with 100% for both sides at the beggining of June, the Japs have the means for a good player to isolate and take PM. At that ponit He has 9 or 10 flattops vs 4 or 5 ...

<t>While the Kates are better ship killers in UV, that is only true until they get in a big furball. They are deadly for the first CV battle, but flak and fighters will take a huge chunk out of them to where their experience levels for whole squadrons drop 20% when they get replacements. Joe Louis ...

Timing of CV airstrikes

<t>This is really an a contiuation of a thread that Yamamoto posted on the UV board, but I think that it is as important for WITP. The current system for CV airstrikes allows the player to choose a primary and secondary mission for its bombers. That is great. But the fact of the matter is the ...

Which is true under 120% ship commitment. But, under 100% ship commitment, IJN usually has only around 6 carriers by June.

My apologies. I meant by July.

<t>Until August '42 in Scenario 17 the IJN has asignificant advantage in numbers and quality. The IJN player should be as aggressive as possible in that time frame. By bid June IJN usually has 10 flattops to 4-5 US. Time to go hunting! I keep reading about the supposed "Super Cap" the US can put up ...

<t>I agree with Yamamoto to an extent. A naval strike should be launched first, but what about ground based radar? If carriers are spotted in the are of a base in the preceding day, it would be safe to assume that the aircraft at the base would take off at the first sign of a blip on the screen ...

<t>1) The auto victory conditions are ridiculous for the reasons mentioned in the previous posts - Just because Luganville or Brisbane is taken the US doesn't just pull out of SWPAC. Way too gamey.<br/>
<br/>
2) Why does everyone play the ahistorical #17 & 19? Because they are the most balanced ...
