Interested - But the title is odd...

Tigers on the Hunt made me think of something like a tank simulator, or a specific battle in which Tigers featured heavily, not a general Squad/Platoon level game like Squad Leader. Still, I'm interested in this and will keep an eye on it.

Only See 4 Scenarios?

<t> Hi all,<br/>
<br/>
I installed TOAW III and added the 3.4 patch. I only see 4 scenarios when I start the game. Tannenberg 1914, the tutorial, Kasserine 43, and some hypothetical scenario. All the other scenarios appear to be present in the directories but they don't show up in the game. Any ...

RE: Map & counter mod

Just as a note for those who dislike 'NATO' style... At least the Cavalry, Infantry and Artillery symbols date back to the Napoleonic era (NATO just kinda appropriated them). &nbsp;

PBEM 'fix'

<t> Greetings all. I'm not sure that this will work for all situations, but I had a Header file load error on a recent game, and was unable to click the Load Secure button after that, so I had to quit the game. Then I got an error message that the game expected the next turn's file, not the one I ...

Deleted question... It was something about naval units which I found the answer to elsewhere. :)

Detachments?

<t> I plan to test out in a game what these are exactly, but it appears as though hitting this button removes part of the unit's strength and leaves it behind (with a 'man' graphic in the hex it was left in). Does anyone know their actual game effect? I assume the enemy has to attack the hex before ...

Thanks! I noticed an issue with a bug occurring if using 'Secure' PBEM. What's the downside if Secure PBEM is not chosen?

Opponent Wanted

<t> Gazala seems to be the most popular scenario for people, and I gravitated naturally to it due to having read a few desert WWII books recently. But I'm more than willing to play any of the scenarios, as either side, especially since I have little experience in the system! I plan to give myself a ...

PBEM - Size of Files?

Greetings all. Just purchased this game, mainly because it looks like it has a pretty good PBEM community. My question is, how big is the PBEM file that's created each turn? I have dial-up at home, so if it's large it could be problematic to send and receive...

Some questions

<t> I have the PureSim 2004 edition and played around with it a bit yesterday to get a feel for whether I'd be interested in the 2006 edition (I tend to skip editions in 'annual' games).<br/>

RE: Fictional team/uni - Bombers

Hey no worries at all. Take as long as you like and only do it if inspiration strikes. I really gotta get those utilities polished up and turned into an exe file, but I slipped over into watching games to try to get 1930's football action. :)

RE: Pass Rush or Run Rush?

<t> Well, that's great for blitzes... Not so great for 'run stuffing' if the player has to be past the line of scrimmage before he goes after the runner (and that's what seems to be the case in the tests I've done). There's a huge difference between the effectiveness of a run defense where the ...

Do you take requests? I'd love a Charleston (SC) based team. They have a soccer team called the 'Battery' which to me is the perfect name as 'The Battery' is what I think of when I think of Charleston. Today it's usually synonymous with the park/walkway along the ...

RE: Pass Rush or Run Rush?

<t> I'm not sure this works well (Moving to next point). It seems to just move the defensive players straight up the field, at least the DL and only the players near the ball carrier have a shot of noticing him. It MIGHT be because I play with Intelligence drastically lowered, so they don't react as ...

RE: My Short List of Fixes/Suggestions

<r> Well, my case is a bit unusual when it comes to depth charts. I'm trying to recreate 30's era NFL, and because of the substitution rule of the time (if a player comes out on ANY play, they're out for the whole quarter), the same 11 players played on offense, defense and special teams. I ...

<t> Out of curiosity, does the sim engine show passing yardage? If it does then my suspicions that the sim engine doesn't take into account plays and playbook settings are correct. If it doesn't show passing yardage then it's obvious that the sim engine can't handle situations outside the 'norm ...

7. Substitutions: Right now it seems that if Injuries are set to 'on', the CPU substitutes willy nilly for the teams it controls. This MAY only happen when an injury occurs, but I didn't notice one in a game, and when I looked at the teams, different players were in the ...

RE: Depth Chart

<t> I'm really not a fan of the Depth Chart system. I would much prefer a 'pull down drag and drop' system like found in Madden/NCAA Football but for each formation. This would have two effects. One, it'd be much less wear and tear on the ol mouse click finger. Two, it would let the CPU know who you ...
