RE: Strategy help, BTR, Allied 44 campaign

<t> I only attack airfields when required or when i see one quite close to the channel launching aircraft. I use the RAF Typhoons for AF attacks at 10k with a fighter close escort--the fighters will attack the base as well. There are simply too many other targets to hit that have a bigger impact on ...

RE: Strategy help, BTR, Allied 44 campaign

<t> My own strategy:<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
1. recon alot--afs, factories etc..<br/>
2. Attack across the spectrum of targets--from italy i attack aircraft factories and oil. From Britain the largest factories available given the weather situation.<br/>
3. Use the 9th and the 2nd taf strikes for ...

RE: Understanding the Weather

Just as in the old btr its a matter of timing. You will get a feel for the movement of the clouds from playing and that will help you in determining when to launch.

RE: Beginner Questions

<t> My strategy is to target the biggest high value targets that are within range of the escorts for complete coverage all the way to the target. I also try to slip in some secondary missions right behind the main bomber force to attack nearby factories--typhoons can come in at 10k and hammer a ...

oob

Is there a way to view the oob and reinforcement schedule for each scenario? I see the "about" button but all that does it give the credits and the oob version. Sorry if this has been asked before but i could not find it in the previous pages.

44long scen--germ nitefighters crashing

<t> Im playing the long 44 scenario as the allies and have come across something peculiar. During RAF nite raids german nite fighters crash in huge amounts--60-100 planes just outright crash while flying to intercept. <br/>
<br/>
I have not seen this during the 43 scenario so im wondering if this ...

RE: Gustav Line

<t> My experience so far is that ground attacks only work if you keep them going on consecutive turns. Ground units seem to repair much faster than factories. Bombing the rail network helps you with points but seems to have no effect on the ground troops--much like it was in real life back in 43-44 ...

RE: Level, dive, or fighter bombers?

FB's work well against ground targets--inf, armor etc..also against radar and airfields
I use the mediums against ground, rail, and light industry
The heavys should only be used at heavy industry and priority targets

RE: Where does the offensive in Burma start

<t> Im still playing out a game without the patch--invaded burma in late 43 after the jap ai had worn 5-6 divisions out trying to take Akyab and Imphal. I invaded burma via akyab and down through imphal as well--there was little opposition till i got to rangoon which lasted about 3 months before i ...

<t> I run fuel from Los Angeles to Auckland and then to either sidney or brisbane--same with supplies. You dont have enought tankers in the beginning to do this regularly but trust me you will eventually be swimming in tankers by late 42--mid 43.<br/>

RE: Tips for how to use Ops Reports & SigInt effectively?

<t> I found the sigent useful up to late 42 for picking up potential jap attacks but after that i looked at it less and less as the japs went on the defensive.<br/>
<br/>
The ops report is handy to me for a couple of reasons--tracking the repairing of ships, location of reinforcements and tfs out ...

BB Massachusetts

The BB Massachusetts has 3 upgrades with the last two scheduled for 5/44--should'nt the last upgrade instead be 4/45?

This occurs in all 3 of the grand campaigns

new essex class cv's

If you manage to make it to 43 without losing any allied carriers you get several new essex cvs with names like yorktown II and Hornet II. Is there anyway to rename these ships as its kinda confusing to have a yorktown and a yorktown II on the map at the same time.

<t> What Ive ended up doing after several repeated tries is running supply and gas runs for Australia out of LA to Auckland--no troops. Troops and planes for SouthPac and SWPac run from San Diego to Pearl then to Noumea and Brisbane with escorts. San Fran is for PacArea troops, planes, and supplies ...

RE: quick question modding/KI44/patch.

You might want to fix the scr radar bug--it has a 12/43 date instead of 12/41. It will be fixed in the first patch i believe.
