RE: # next to ship name?

<t> That's the indication of the task force's current flagship. If there's just one ship in a TF - like in every self respecting sub patrol TF <g>, the ship always is the flagship. If you didn't select a flag officer for TF commander, the game selects the most appropriate commander of the available ...

Coincidentally my tracker DB is almost complete - I forgot to import just one turn but otherwise, everything should be there. I did not see such updates before turn 16, but look what I found in my combatoperations.txt file of the same turn:<br/>

<r> Hello from Vienna!<br/>
<br/>
Sadly I can't really comment on pilot management since I'm just starting to play WitPAE in earnest but am due to find out in a PBEM. <E>:)</E> I'll be posting an AAR thread covering the allied side hopefully this evening, so you're very welcome to participate ...

<t> I already envy you all for reading Grotius' thread in the future. I hope my own attempt which I intend to post tonight will draw as much attention, for my commanding ability is as yet completely unproven and I am in dire need of competent staff officers. From here, I bow to my adversary and wish ...

Welcome from another long time lurker!

My wife has been introduced to me playing WitP years ago though. ;) Thank god AE looks very similar so I sneaked it past her, hehe.

<r> Great AAR Grotius!<br/>
<br/>
I'm currently involved in getting the japs off the Aleutians for starters, I'm amazed at the added detail, especially the plethora of logs in the save directory, which is brilliant since it saves me lots of work for AARs, hehe. Kiska fell last night, and Attu is ...

RE: The Topsy Minesweeper

Ah! Mundane reasons then. I am a tad disappointed, because I had envisioned a real romantic, gut-roaring reason with a heroic transport plane plunging into a minefield to save a convoy or three, heading into their doom unawares... but I digress.

Thanks! ;)

RE: Combat replays out of sync? Or Fog of War?

<t> Well,<br/>
<br/>
For what its worth, reinstalling and repatching helped! I reinstalled the game and got the same results - on the second try. For the first try, I forgot to set the realism options. <br/>

RE: Combat replays out of sync? Or Fog of War?

<r> It's Subchaser's map mod, and I also exchanged A_Mission.bmp and A_PlaneSide.bmp. As well as swapping out a few sound files. No other mods that I know of. <br/>

But I will reinstall, repatch on my machine at home to be sure. It's not a great loss, but the map mod was much nicer to look ...

RE: Combat replays out of sync? Or Fog of War?

<t> I have to confess that I installed a map mod, a sound mod and a couple of other (graphics) changes right before we left for holiday... I'll try to find out what exactly was changed but so far, just a few files in /ART and /SOUND...<br/>
<br/>
Of course, by now I am not sure if that was all ...
