RE: This is a beautiful game.

I still get the emails when people post messages here, but it's been 12 years since the game was developed. I can try my best :)

Flanking moves and holding your lines is a great strategy. How far into the game are you? I recall the elephants were super tough to get past.

RE: Win 10

Yeah, I would hold off until someone who already owns it has tried it, or Matrix responds. It's a 12 yo game, who knows what went stale. The game will try to install .Net and DX9 if it can't find them. I'm willing to bet the install process has changed somewhat between XP and Win 10.

RE: Win 10

Good question, I would like to know too :) (I'm still on Windows 7)

The game was written with C# using DirectX 9. If DX9 still works on Windows 10, it technically should run.

RE: Chose approach for attack?

I have to reach way back in the cockles of my brain for this one :) I think the path that is chosen is the only path. I believe it is based in part by the current facing of the unit. So unfortunately, you have to take a facing turn hit if you want to go another path.

I don't think they do. At least, they didn't in Winter Storm. Turn on the topography map to see if it was updated when a tank dies.

RE: Dev Team...scenario SDK docs please

Unfortunately there's a lot of level data embedded in the game executable. I don't think there's anyway to add extra levels unless you compile the game. sorry!

RE: "HAS HEIGHT" --- Bug?

<t> Ah, tank physics. My favorite. I think perhaps the issue here is that there is quite a bit of simulation stabilization going on, that the calculation is throwing a fit for extreme cases. Behind the scenes, movement is calculated every 500ms. I expect slightly odd things to happen when there are ...

I've just played an hour or so without noticing significant slowdown. However, the CPU is used at least 50% constantly, even when no game is in progress (that is, just the interface). This doesn't look right, does it ?

RE: Application Generated Exception

When you installed DirectX9 did you install the Managed Extensions? I think the web install from Microsoft's site does not do that automatically. Panzer Command's Installer will turn that option on when it attempts to install DirectX.

I know this seems counter intuitive, but try cranking UP the settings. If you have an LCD monitor, make the resolution the same size as the default of your monitor. Also, up the bit depth to 32 bit. I notice in the Logs that it is crashing while it is trying to create the DirectX ...

Hi Ainsworth,

It's We Go. You plan your moves, press play, and wait for your opponent to plan their moves.

Enjoy!

It would be the F10 key. It's actually Caesar that you can speed up. I don't think Alexander ever had that option.

Zman,

I haven't looked at the code yet to see why this crashes, but there's a chance you could work around it for now if you turn off shadows. This is done in the options menu.
