Nijmegen historical campaign

<r> Today I finished the Nijmegen historical campaign (yes, I really caught the HTTR bug [;)]). In line with my Eindhoven AAR I'll describe the initial assault in some detail followed by a short overview of the rest of the battle.<br/>

Eindhoven historical campaign

<r> After my unexpected Draw playing the allies in the Eindhoven historical campaign, I decided to have another go at it, this time making sure to grab all the victory points as fast as possible. Orders delay was set to "realistic", reinforcements and supply to standard and historical, respectively ...

Thanks for your feedback. <br/>

If I understand you correctly your major point is that you don't know exactly what the enemy objectives are and hence how best to guarrantee a victory - ie by achieving your own and ...

Not an insane number of points at all!<br/>
The whole point was to get to Arnhem as quickly as possible. If you can't get through the choke points, you can't get to Arnhen.<br/>
I think you may need to study the real battle a bit more in ...

Basically the Germans cut your forces off, if they held the Son and Eindhoven , in a strategic point of view your forces would have ether made a 180 counter attack or rely on air drops.<br/>

Ether way your troops where about a week from ...

Eindhoven historical - Insane amount of points for the Germans?

<t> I just finished the Eindhoven historical scenario. I thought I'd done really well, considering I had all objectives in my possession for almost the entire duration of the scenario. Unfortunately, the game called it a draw, and inspection of the German side of things shows that they get an insane ...

RE: How did you perform in "Breakout from Joe's Bridge"

<t> I'm glad you liked my AAR. I've been planning on doing the other historical scenarios but I didn't like the fact that Guards Armoured is not present in the Eindhoven one. It would have been nice if there existed exit victory hexes in HTTR, the idea being that you get points for moving units off ...

I won Breakout yesterday after a few unsuccesful attempts. I noticed that the quickest way to send these guys up the road is using Move order / Fastest speed / Road Column formation / Quickest route / Min aggro / Rapid fire / Max ...

<t> Something else that might work: use a rolling arty barrage in front of your units. This will most likely suppress most unspotted infantry. Then ride in with armored infantry, unload and take a look around. Chances are you will spot some infantry without them shooting at you. Note: this works ...

<t> Hi again,<br/>

I see I did not answer all your questions. I typically also have trouble choosing the correct core force for a campaign. However, in my experience the following works quite well:<br/>

RE: Help! (Preparing the Way)

<t> Hi,<br/>
<br/>
This reminds me of my first (and unsuccessful) attempt at this scenario & campaign. I played it perhaps five times since then using different strategies and found it to be quite easy in the end. My favorite strategy is quite unorthodox and not very historical. My solution:<br ...
