Another plane to add....the F-101B interceptor flew with some US Air National Guard units thru the middle of 1982. The last Voodoo in US service (F-101B-105-MC 58-300) was finally retired by the 2nd Fighter Interceptor Training Squadron ...

RE: Thread for DB3000 database problems, updates or issues

<t> Hey guys,<br/>
<br/>
Is the USS Oriskany on your add list? There was talk of it being re-activated and it would be nice to have an Essex class carrier in the 1980-2015 database to create some what-if scenerio's (like Argentina having an Essex class during the Falklands war).<br/>

RE: 95% effective chaff?

[:)]..i was about to report this one too, then saw this post. I was playing Hunter-Killer (build 490) and had F-102 and F-106's shooting Falcon missiles at Tu-16 and Tu-22 bombers. All of my SARH Falcons were fooled by the super effective chaff dropped by the bombers.

RE: Stickied thread for minor database issues?

Any chance you guys can put in an Essex class carrier like the USS Oriskany. There was talk in 1980's of re-activating it so it would make a fun addition to a what-if scenario.

RE: also, a WWII Dutch Submarine completely salvaged

<t> I think if people are really looking for pre-WWII low radiation metal to use, there's thousands of ton's of WWI metal in Scapa Flow from all of the German warships scuttled by their own sailors. Also England scuttled alot of U-Boats after the WWII in Operation Deadlight. So there's plenty of ...

RE: also, a WWII Dutch Submarine completely salvaged

<t> I think there is a difference. In almost all wars the land battles are fought on land being used by people to make a living, be it a farm, town, factory,..etc., before the battle. After the battles, the fallen were buried which I think most feel is the most respectful thing to do. The ordinance ...

RE: also, a WWII Dutch Submarine completely salvaged

<t> I don't have a problem fundamentally if they were just trying to get a ships bell, or wheel, to bring up and display at some memorial. But to dredge up a whole sub, like the Dutch O-16, so they could scrap it completely for metal, I have a little problem with that. I'm sure relatives of the ...

<t> Ok...these commercials evidently salvaged the Dutch Submarine O-16 which was sunk by mines on December 15, 1941 with only one survivor.<br/>

Sad story, HMAS Perth being stripped by commercial salvagers

<r> Sad story about commercial salvagers stripping the HMAS Perth, sunk in the Battle of Sundra Strait. I hope it can be stopped. And isn't the USS Houston nearby. Hope it hasn't been touched.<br/>

question on Cities

another newbie question from me...is there a way to put cities into a scenarios at targets, or not? Was thinking of a 1950's bomber scenario (B-36's heading to Moscow or Russian bombers trying to get to a US City) and it looked like bases are the only targets you can use.

Falklands scenerio - with a carrier twist

<r> hey guys, been thinking about creating a hypothetical Falklands war scenario, with the Argentinians having an Essex class carrier [:D](bought second hand during the 1970's) instead of the Veintcinco de Mayo. Trying to think of a good and realistic carrier air group to be on it. One idea was a ...

If this hasn't been asked for already can you add the CF-101B Voodoo to DB3000. It was in squadron service in Canada till 1984. Thanks!
