RE: Are hexes really necessary in WitP?

IMHO, I believe there is a subset of gamers here who would LOVE to see vector-based maps. Damn hard to code for if I understand correctly though. Wish I was a coder, I'd take a crack at it [:D]

RE: Set future objective???

I have had only the 2nd and 4th USMC Divs attacking Saipan and had a fortress reduction. SUrprised me. Then I looked into the TOE and noticed that they have organic Engineers. I wonder if the more engineers the higher the chance of a reduction.

<r> Strange. I could have swore I saw a screenshot with the correct name for PT-109. I did notice though that it has been missing from the OOB. Haven't really looked for it though.<br/>

Continuous Bombardment TFs possible?

<t> Or am I doing something wrong? When I assign a bombard TF it bombards the first turn of arrival and then auto switches to Surface Combat. Tried to set it on patrol and auto replenisgsh with a replenish TF in hex with no luck. Is there a way to make it Bombard until it's out of ammo then RTB?</t>

Tutorial - US: TFs, LBAs "losing" their orders

<t> I've noticed several units forgeting their orders after the turn they are given. <br/>
<br/>
Example: I create a TF at Eniwetok with 10 destroyers and 4 AKs. Give the AKs the order to load the 2 F and 1 FB AC unit and give a destination of the other Allied base. It appears to take. Run the ...

RE: Tutorial - US, Cannot auto populate TFs

<t> New observation. I don't think this is working as intended after all. I have 6 SS in Eniwetok. I go to create a Sub Attack TF and choose auto select. "No ships of the proper type can be found". Are we sure there isn't something lurking in the code?<br/>

Note also, this only occurs AFTER ...

Supplying Amphibious TFs

Is there a way to create supply TFs for amphibious attacks that continue to run between the supply base and the beach-head? I would like to create 3-4 TFs that load, travel, unload, RTB, and repeat the cycle.

TF Creation Doctrine - Tip of the Sword or Kitchen Sink?

With the myriad of TF types available and the dozens of possible ship types, how do you all build your TFs? What is the best composition for Air Combat, Surface Combat, etc. for each side?

Thanks, Mr. Frag. Is there a reference somewhere that lists what the minimum recommended TF composition is for the various TFs?

How do I get Invasion Support TFs to stay on station?

So I'm playing the tutorial as the US. Trying to invade Saipan, but after the first combat turn, my bombardment and CV task forces immediately return to base. How do I get these to remain on-station for the duration of the invasion?
