RE: Top Suggestions for COGEE Rules/"Bugs"?

<t> I've been following this with a lot of interest. One thing I'm really puzzled by is the debate about blockading versus 'sweeping the seas' at the same time. As I understand it a blockade in this era would consist of a main fleet in a central position and one or more 'inshore squadrons' who would ...

<t> I suspect this is 'the other side of the hill' to Peter's post #14, hopefully to provide a fuller picture of how the naval mechanics are working. <br/>

RE: Games you want to see

I must be on a grander scale.... (besides my waistline). I would love to see a computer version of the old Vietnam game as well as GDW's Europa computerized. A really good strategic Rome game would also have me drooling.

<r> I do not think it really matters who was in command or which strategy was used, broad or narrow (ducks to affix flame retardent underwear). No major port equals no supplies equals stuck army and lots of time for German reorganization and counterstrike. If there was one thing they excelled at it ...

Used to play the game lo those many years ago as a Canadian in Oz. Also acquaintance from work used to play on the French team and I watched a game with him in the bar in Dusseldorf. Was the same rugby I played but could barely understand it, rules have changed![&:]

<t> About 3-6 months then falling back to 95 or so, assuming no major upsets. Don't gloat too loud boys, as a manager in export I'm thinking which several of you to fire so we can be more productive. RE: A question for old grognards

<t> Started with Blitzkrieg, then AH Russian Campaign, Napoleon at Waterloo. Anzio was just awesome at the time (degrading units!) but a pain to set up. How little I knew what was coming. Midway was fun. Discovered SPI when I started University in Montreal via Strategy 1 and Blitzkrieg Module System ...

RE: To Buy Or Not To Buy? That Is The Question...

<t> Guess I'll throw in my two cents. Personally I rate this game several big notches above SC1, haven't tried SC2 or variants, nor am I likely to with this one on the hard drive. AI not really great but it can surprise (arriving in front of Moscow at 2/3 to 1/2 strength will give you cause for ...

RE: Russian Super Tank Corps bug?

<t> I've run into this a couple of times, usually in 1942 and on the higher Allied settings. Teaches great respect around Moscow. The AI seems capable of countering with a couple of supertanks which can kill a full strength panzer with one hit. It forced me to pay a lot of attention to upgrading ...

<t> Nah. Got to blow the rust off somehow. Back to the original topic. I am wondering if the three techs in each branch function to cancel each other out. Sort of rock paper scissors thing.
