Not crystal clear, I agree, but the clear implication (at least to me) was that the ...

RE: Bismarck at wargamer says:

<t> I went over to the wargamer forums to take a look at what he said. His post clearly states that the 10 minute term comment is not specifically aimed at CoG. It also appears he just got a copy of the game and hadn't read the manual thoroughly. Not trying to defend him, just trying to clear up the ...

RE: Jap fighters are too good at attacking b-17's early in war....

<t> My experience as the Japanese in a PBEM game has been quite different. Nates, Claudes and Oscars don't seem to have much luck against the B-17s. The only success I have had against them has come when using Zeros. Also, while the B-17 did have a large number of defensive guns, there were angles ...

I have observed this problem as well in my PBEM game. Every base in Malaya is assigned to the Burma HQ despite the fact that all bases were captured by LCU's assigned to the Southern Army command. That includes Singapore, which was captured when the SA command was one hex ...

RE: Observations on Ship Repairs

Very interesting test.

FYI, page 187 of the manual states:

"Ships in a hex with an AR ship and a base will repair faster."

So it appears that it doesn't have to be in the port itself. Perhaps this is an error in the manual?

RE: Paratrooper Problem

"Automatic upgrade". The computer very helpfully decides that the start TOE, which includes 37mm, is no good. So it upgrades (read: replaces) them with 47mm. The 47mm is to large to be transported by air. No AT for you!

RE: Uber Dutch search aircraft bug?

Seeing the same thing in a PBEM game. I have about 30 Nates set at 90% in Brunei, and shipped in some heavy AAA. Doesn't seem to effect the Dutch recce planes, if there are ships in the hex (docked at port) they will hit them.

RE: Air squadron remnant not rejoining parent unit

<t> I am having the same problem in my v1.21 PBEM game. Thirty-some days into scenario 15 and I have yet to see a fragment from a transferred unit rejoin its "parent" automatically. In prior games against the AI (pre-ver.1.21) the fragments would move and combine automatically. BTW, the fragments ...

RE: Retreat path?

<t> I too have seen wierd and frankly disappointing retreat results. Most notable is the base force at Victoria Point. Despite the fact that the Japanese (me!) control Songkhla and Moulmein, the unit invariably retreats towards Moulmein. To add insult to injury it retreats INTO the hex I advanced ...
