Out of Fuel

<t> I have a sub with zero fuel 3 hexes from Raubal. What are my options? It appears I cannot send a sub transport with fuel to help...do I have to send an AO there or should I just scuttle that sub (and shoot the skipper).<br/>
<br/>
In general terms, how does the game handle bingo fuel? Do I ...

RE: Easy Question on Load LCU's

<t> Yes, the strat mode made it available...thanks guys.<br/>
<br/>
Wow, that seems like overkill that I need to go set that mode on land units first in a separate menu. So loading a land unit is: 1) go to land unit, change hq if required, set mode to strat move, write down load cost of unit ...

Easy Question on Load LCU's

<t> Probably pretty easy, but have just picked up AE after a long lapse in playing WITP.<br/>
<br/>
I want to load an LCU. Troop screen says 6875 load cost. Fine, I make a task force with AP's with total capacity 8300 and click load troops. Only aircraft appear on the screen as possible candidates ...

RE: Japanese Navy Fighter OOB errors:

Do the game endurance figures represent combat radius? If so doubling them would make them pretty close in some cases to the endurance listings you give. It is hard to imagine that the ratings for the A6M2 are not dead on.

RE: Japanese Air Strike Composition

<t> Perhaps you're right, but resetting the "destination" for the escort mission is not possible. I had to set the mission to long range CAP, set the desination to TF1 and then reset the mission to escort. Still not 100% this will work. Is there a better way to reset the destination to "commander ...

I think you need 2500 supply in the port for the AS case...any size port.

RE: Hotkey [1]

Ok, thanks.

So Cw is Costal woods? and Cm would be costal mountains? Oa would be ocean but I don't know what "a" is. I'm not sure what Cc is either.

I know this seems like a dumb question but it is not actually documented anywhere.

Yes, but, for example, what is Oa and what is Cc and Lw and Lm?

Thanks.

Hotkey [1]

Sorry if I am being thick, but what does the hex text mean when hotkey 1 is used?

Eg Oa, Cw, Cm, Lm, Cc, etc. ?

I don't see it in the manual anywhere...thanks.

RE: saddened by poor interface

<t> Thanks for looking at the suggestions! These are meant to be constructive in nature:<br/>

Probably the biggest thing would be the ability to capture the text out of any window (and allow it to be input to excel or some other external program). This could either be done by supporting CTRL ...

RE: saddened by poor interface

<t> I have been wondering if anyone would post this critique. I have been very tempted to do so myself. Don't get me wrong, I like the game and I own pacwar and UV and probably every other GG game ever made...but at $75 I think I have a right to say that the interface needs improvement. It's the ...

Capturing Report Information

<t> Is there a way to capture information displayed in the various report screens for export to another program (like excel)? It seems really hard to get a handle on some of the status just from the reports screens and further analysis and even printing is necessary. How are the various lists at ...

Understanding Retreats

<t> I just had a situation where I won the ground combat and the defender retreated. But he retreated "though" my unit and captured my base behind my lines, apparently destroying the aircraft there. Do I really need to keep a double thick line of advance to maintain a front line?? This just seems ...

You might be on to something. I did see a few cloudy messages flash by. Still it was clear enough for 3 waves of escorted sbd's to find and attack my carriers. [:(]

CAP over TF

<t> My TF was just attacked by naval air but no CAP flew to stop them...? 3 carriers had all zeros set to escort, 30% and range 5 (down from 11 max) 15k feet, and nothing flew against 3 strikes. Additionally, 2 offensive strikes, 3-4 hex range, went out unescorted and a third with a dozen fighters ...
