Also, completly uninstall the game, resintall the game with norton anti-virus disabled, apply both patches with norton anti-virus disabled. Should work. This error is just directx directdraw than gets messed up ...

You could try installing directx 9.0c, it might fix everything indeed. [:)] The directx installation actually removes the old version layer before installing the new one, that`s why they always take en eternity.
