Well, you get the full Editor with the game, so you can play around with that.<br/>
Not sure an editor without an ability to play the created scenarios would be much use. <br/>

RE: Editor

It sounds like you have a great game editor that can be the basis to create virtually any hex-based wargame set in WWII to modern times. Any plans of releasing it as a separate product? I'd love to be able to use such a system to recreate, for example, the old SPI and Avalon Hill style games.

<r> Steve, I hope you get better, and I hope you have an excellent vitreoretinal surgeon there in Hawaii to fix your detached retina. For others who are curious about the different therapies available for ocular melanoma, here's this article: <URL url="http://bit.ly/q5fwmF">http://bit.ly/q5fwmF</URL ...

RE: Games For iPad

<t> There is in fact already a four star rated strategy wargame on the iPad that uses essentially a hexagonal grid and is turn based. It's called Great Little War Game HD and looks toylike with its cartoonish depictions of soldiers and military equipment. It just shows that there is a potential ...

Beautiful work! Maybe we'll see it implemented in MWIF 2.0? [:D]

RE: I hate to say this...

<t> Why is why I think that ultimately, the Fuller map is the better choice for an entirely new and innovative game about a global war where battles can take place any where in the world including the polar regions such as in a future World War or even a scifi game dealing with an alien invasion ...

RE: I hate to say this...

<t> The decision to have a single scale for both the European and the Pacific Theatre maps did change how the game plays. I remember all the debates in this forum about this long ago, which was why I wished back then that the Fuller map projection be implemented if such a fundamental change was ...

RE: I hate to say this...

<t> I recommended this same map when the MWIF project was first announced and initial ideas were being considered here. It is still my hope that a future version of MWIF or even a totally new global war game (WWII or even WWIII) will use such a map. It probably makes even better sense for a WWIII ...

<r> Found the graphics you posted two years ago at the WIF forum. You do great work! Wish you could do a mod that looks like what you did here, both in terms of the counters and the map. [:)]<br/>

I hope that you can change the color of the borders. Remember that 8% of the male population is red-green color blind including me, so the ability to change the color to something else like black will be greatly appreciated.

RE: Early graphics mod

Your graphics mod may be sparse, but it's definitely an improvement over the current artwork. I too am nostalgic for SPI graphics designer Redmond Simonsen's artwork in classic wargames.

RE: Reason to buy

Perhaps the display of names of cities, etc. can be made an option in the preferences. For those who don't want them on the map, they can choose that option.

RE: Full res screenshots

It's difficult to make out the country borders based on these photos. Perhaps some thick dashed lines along the hexsides that make up the borders similar to the SPI maps of yesteryear would be a better fit for this game. I definitely prefer the NATO style counters.
