How to employ landing craft

I got the part where you can look at your intel screen and see how many landing craft you can create. Once you have created them, how to use them for an amphibious assault to a base further then 1 hex away is beyond me at the moment. Maybe I am making assumptions here and going down the wrong path ...

Sandstorm

Pacific came with a manual. Is there a manual for Sandstorm? Or a general manual for all?

Two of my 88's in Sandstorm appear to do nothing and I want to find out why.

Thanks

Hello ReneTs,

I am just getting restarted playing this game. I love the genre. How do you play this by mail?

Stealth Land Units

Can somebody confirm if a land or air unit is embarked aboard ships, they unit will not show up with the buttons for "List all Land ..."?

Seems I lose track of units for a while when they are being shipped.

Fighters

<t> Two questions:<br/>
<br/>
1) How come I can't order a fighter group to 100% training? When I click to 100% it switchs the mission to CAP.<br/>
<br/>
2) Allies start the game with a bunch of obsolete fighters. How can I speed up the replacement process to get some more vaulable fighters? Do I ...

No. For anything other than a straight line, you need to set the TF to "Do Not Retire", and manually change the waypoints along the way. AE will change that, but in WITP, you need to do it yourself.

Sub patrols

If a sub is in a base, can I create a TF Sub Patrol, assign a sub and then turn it over to the computer? It seems I have mixed success with that and can't determine what are the factors for success.

Computer course selection or "Why do my ships try to kill themselfs"

RE: Barges?

OK, that gives me smoe good ideas how to use as soon as they become available. Sounds like they can also be used for assaults given a departure point no too far from the destination.

Port Operations

Does a post like San Fancisco for example, need a base force present to load/unload supplies and/or troops? All the West Coast post have BF present but I think I could make better use of them elsewhere. Thanks.

Thank you for the connection to the link. It is a great discussion of the subject and helps a lot. Now I will have less excuses for a poorly utilized TF.

Port Capacity

Does anybody have a good rule of thumb to figure out how amny tons of supplies a port can load or unload in a day's time? Me and the dockmaster of San Fancisco are arguing that his longshoremen are a bunch of slackers that they can't load 2 7000 ton AK's in one day. Thanks.

Do I need to Patch?

<t> Just bought and installed WitP version 1.8.00.1. I noticed a few bugs it has. Such as when I have transfered an air group to a base that contains a part of that airgroup already, instead of getting the display for the airgroup in the new location, I get a bogus (incorrect or maybe random data ...
