use of jap paratroops

I use paras out of Palau or Truk (moved there asap) with flying boats to grab all those deserted base hexes in New Guinea. I use squadron of 4-8 planes to drop about 30-60 troops in each hex

How do people fell about this tactic?

RE: How to supply land locked bases?

even level-bombers can be used for supply transport right?

or, like said above, dump supplies at closest port, and have a HQ leech some to where u want it.

RE: Best usage for some allied units.

Drop paratroops in enemy un-occupied base hexes, or behind/around enemy stronghold, then attack with main force, enemy has nowhere to retreat to and dies?

Would PC's, PG's and MSW's be enough, or do I need DD's, CL's and CA's ???

I would have thought that airpower would suppress defendes enough.

<t> I think unhistorical is good!<br/>
<br/>
If someone is gonna go all historical-all the time, just buy the war in the pacific CD collection, its much faster, or read a history book.<br/>

RE: gamey turn 1?

<t> Personnally, i dont like the 1 port attack with that many subs in manilla, I can see lots of AK's and auxilliaries, with sone DD's etc... in manilla, but not 25+ subs n manilla lined up for a turkey shoot<br/>

gamey turn 1?

Lets say i'm playing japanese.

Would it be considered gamey to do 10, 20 or 30 landings/invasions (large and small)?

IMHO, 1st turn attack on PH always seems too weak, is it gamey to attack Manilla instead/also, where i can sink and damage 20+ subs?
