use of jap paratroops

Post by admiral56 »

I use paras out of Palau or Truk (moved there asap) with flying boats to grab all those deserted base hexes in New Guinea. I use squadron of 4-8 planes to drop about 30-60 troops in each hex

How do people fell about this tactic?

Kind of a waste of assets IMHO. Those bases along the north coast of NG aren't going anywhere so why use the paras for that? They can be used in a place like the DEI possibly. Another place to use them is Burma where they can drop behind the British lines and cutoff retreat. Also some people have used paras in China if the Allied player doesn't secure his rear bases.

Finally you can gather all your paras together along with a couple of hundred transport planes to create a massive para brigade.

What i do is fly em in, and them fly them out after when they arent needed anymore.

Of course using them to stop retreat is a better course of action, ill try it now i think...
