[1.20h] Various bugs

- The Claremont Commune was declared to have won the game in the attached autosave, despite only having around 10 victory points. Kind of a bummer as I was really getting into the game. - When I win bids for shares of MTHs, they are not showing up in the MTH report. PS - for some reason I had to ren...

Methinks the Russian Army did not play much Shadow Empire

As any player here knows, before any offensive with mechanized troops great care has to be taken to build up railheads on your border, as well as supply depots, swarms of trucks, and lots of stored fuel and food... lest you find all of your units 9 hexes deep in enemy territory with sad red squares....

RE: Open Beta Patch 1.4.1

<t> The American AI is not particularly good at defending against an invasion, btw - he left Washington DC unguarded and I walked in with my last depleted, starving infantry that survived the crossing in 1917. Perhaps the US was traumatized by the surrender of the rest of the Entente... in any event...

RE: Open Beta Patch 1.4.1

Kirk23, my game started to dramatically slow down last around right around March 1916... it was still playable, but kind of laggy. Maybe it will be fine this eve... otherwise no issues.

RE: Open Beta Patch 1.4.1

Here's the current screenshot from my last turn.. you can see all my U-boat pips in the Atlantic, and I am hoping for big things in 1916 in Russia.

RE: Open Beta Patch 1.4.1

<r> I used the "undiluted" pre-1900 Schlieffen plan, retreating to Konigsberg and the Vistula in the East and putting literally everything into France (including all infantry as fast as I could produce them). Perhaps I got lucky; I pocketed a few French and British units around Calais and cut off th...

RE: Open Beta Patch 1.4.1

<t> Two other observations -<br/> <br/> 7. Sort of enjoying the small garrisons getting plugged into the front by the AI - makes for more contiguous frontlines in the East. I've done the same, and just think of them as "Quality 3 troops". They can hold you up for a turn or two, anyway, and if you wa...

RE: Open Beta Patch 1.4.1

<t> Just as a counterpoint, I am at the end of 1915 in my 1.4.1 CP single player game (also on average), and I've occupied all of France, Serbia and the upper half of Italy, and am in front of Brest-Litovsk with 8 subs in the Atlantic (which unfortunately brought the US into the war). My general obs...

RE: Open Beta Patch 1.4.1

<t> The trenches do seem a little weak/perhaps miscoded - it's 1915 in my game and I have developed barbed wire tech, but am still only getting a maximum of "entrenchment bonus - 3" and a "level 1 trench" graphics marker on the screen. The war is definitely very fluid because of that; perhaps a bit ...

RE: Open Beta Patch 1.4.1

<t> I also am very happy with the 1.4.1 changes to date, playing as the CP. The Eastern Front is well modelled in its fluidity, but I do agree with a poster above who also has noticed the Entente Russian AI focus the majority of its affections on the Germans - having the Russian AI concentrate on th...

RE: Thoughts on the 1918 scenario (just played as Entente)?

<t> Catwhoorg, that basically is what happened in my scenario as well (although I drew in the Middle East, which was fortunate. The AI trained in absolute swarms of units there). <br/> <br/> Judging from the morale levels of the European Entente powers, it seems to me that all of the morale levels a...

Thoughts on the 1918 scenario (just played as Entente)?

<t> Playing as the Entente, I pushed the Germans back into their Fatherland and had taken Ruhr and Strassburg, with Munich and Frankfurt under fire, sank the High Seas Fleet with the 10% resultant morale loss... yet the Germans never surrendered and I was told I had suffered a marginal defeat after ...

Zoom levels

<t> Are there only three different zoom levels, or is there a way to zoom in further? I ask because I have a widescreen monitor, and so even at the third level of zoom it is hard to really get "in close" and differentiate trench levels, non-NATO unit counters, terrain, etc. <br/> <br/> Perhaps it is...

RE: Anyone interested in me updating GoA?

<t> Frank, I've played this game for years and am a big fan.  If you're still planning on an update, here are my suggestions:<br/> <br/> - Agree that the UK AI does not do a good job of pulling its weight on the western front.  Also, perhaps more noticeable is when the US enters the war, I never see...

RE: Crash about an hour in on 1.0.1

<t> To provide a little more background, Scipio (the Elder) failed when he tried to storm the city between Cisalpine Gaul and the province to the east of the Appennines... he then started to bounce around a little crazily in camp between those two provinces - I think he ended the turn in the next pr...
