Re: Time to Beat a dead horse, again?

Thanks for the background of the need to limit industry expansion to follow the real limitations faced by Japan. But, from a practical game standpoint, if your LI factory is damaged on Jan. 1, 1943 10 factors which cost you 10,000 supply to repair, and say the game is over on Aug. 31, 1945 (973 days ...

Time to Beat a dead horse, again?

After playing WitP AE as Allies for years, I decided to try as Japan and test out with the Production system. The factory expansion/repair makes little sense to me. It costs 100 Supply points, 10 HI and 10 MP points to expand one factory point. It costs 1000 supply points to repair one factory point ...

Re: WitPTracker AE Release 1.11 Available!

Thanks Ranger Joe and Chris21wen, I cut short the effort and loaded Tracker1.92 and it works just fine. I'll give your suggestions a try somewhere down the line.

Re: WitPTracker AE Release 1.11 Available!

I've been away from WitP for a few years and am trying to get back in the groove. I updated to the latest version of Tracker but, I keep getting an error message. I see that Tracker now uses Java 7 or 8. I still run WitP on a Windows 7 computer with the older version of Jave 6. I see Java webpage ...

Started out playing MB games like Risk. Moved up to Tactics II and Midway. Then, on the Squad Leader. In early 2000's stumbled onto War in the Pacific and Crown of Glory. What day is this? I'm still trying to take back the Philippines from Japan in the Dec. 8th scenario.

I have had games where the Brits invade open provinces with ports, then get away. Makes you keep corps close by.

Re: Generals in CoGEE

If you haven't done so already, check out the posts by lucr41 from 2017, he has a number of fixes to work around some of the problems, one affects the status of generals. Also, there is a trick to getting random events to launch, once you have saved a game.

RE: Calling all lurkers (and forumites) - STATUS UPDATE please!

<t> I must be the Lurker of all lurkers! I've been playing since 2009. I started the Dec. 8th campaign several times, all against the AI. Finally, with AE updated to the last MichaelM beta I've progressed to June 1945. I am determined to finish this someday. As you can tell from my Post count, not ...

Playing Entente, but no Russia option?

<t> I just started playing this game. After going through the tutorials, I am stating on the historical champagne. The only options that come up to play are the Western Entente and Germany. Once starting the game as WE, I cannot see what is happening in Russia, other than some summary data on the ...

RE: comparison question

<t> Sorry coachi, I've only played this one as a computer game, so I have nothing to compare against. I haven't tried PBEM for this either. I've generally found, at the start of an AI game you fight for your life playing France and if you get the upper hand, you usually stay there. The game keeps me ...

Help on Event not Working

<t> With the helpful fixes from Lucr41 I am now getting the events to happen that never happened before. One problem though, I received the Assassination of Napoleon event (1% chance). There are two parts to the event, one is to eliminate Napoleon and the second to reduce National Morale. My ...

RE: What Gives Matrix??????

<t> As to my original complaint. When I click on the purchase button for these games, I expected to get the latest official version and that's not what was downloaded. I do not live in an area where high speed internet is an option. So I'm paying by the "download" data KBs in addition to the game ...

RE: What Gives Matrix??????

On the updates, I bought John Tillers Campaign Series and Gray Grigsby A World Divided. For JT's the Members download shows V1DR while I was able to find a V2.2 and for GG's the Members download shows V1.00 while I was able to find a V1.04.

What Gives Matrix??????

<r> I decided to take advantage of purchasing a couple of new games from the sales going on. I haven't bought a game in a long time. Only to find out the download doesn't give me the latest version of the game. I would have been really mad if I hadn't found out by accident that there had been ...

RE: Same port issue for Azov in Don Cossack proince

In case anyone needs it, the Azov city number is 264. I'm thinking of removing the docks by changing the type to "8", which seems to be not-harbored provinces. That would need to be done in the COG2Start.txt file.

RE: A Fix for Cardiff port!

<t> The cities are listed on the COG2ProvStart.txt file. In the "Type" column I identified all the areas with docks are a 10 (later to discover there is a file with all the types listed). Cardiff had a "0" where others had a number. The same is true for Azov, but not sure anyone cares as it is so ...

Same port issue for Azov in Don Cossack proince

<t> While checking for the reason Cardiff wasn't allowing ships to move in and out, on the CIG2Citycoord.txt file I noticed the same issue for Azov, in lower Russia. The province screen shows docks as a development area, but there is no port anchor symbol on the map. I am not sure which is the ...

A Fix for Cardiff port!

<t> Thanks to Luc's inspiration I have tracked down the problem of why Cardiff does not allow ships to transfer to or from the sea zone.<br/>
<br/>
In the Scenario folder look for the file "COG2Citycoord.txt" file and open it with Notepad.<br/>
<br/>
Cardiff is city no. "2", it appears a the ...
