Ironman comments

<t> I'm several months into my first go with the Ironman mod and it's kicking my butt pretty hard. Seems impossible to do much of anything other than run for the hills and pray. Curious to see if anyone has any comments on the mod ... is it sustainable? Playable over a long term? Or just simply ...

RE: Whats new?

<t> FWIW...I picked up WITP right after it released. Although it's not perfect, the game is dazzling in its detail and kept me amused for years. Even for those of us who play the AI and never manage to PBEM, WITP provided a huge amount of entertainment cheaply. AE should be ...

Mods for a AI challenge

<t> Played stock through late 43 as Allies until the Japanese began to fold like a wet paper bag. PBEM is difficult for me b/c of time constraints. I recently restarted as Allies on "very hard" and see the AI heading down exactly the same path to mediocrity. I'm interested in the mods, but don;t ...

RE: Looking for a PBEM opponent

OK, I'm patched up. Scenario 17? What are your preferences for house rules? I'm fairly flexible...would prefer elevated ship commitment levels.

Is 2.42 functional? The board seemed pretty negative on it.

Looking for a PBEM opponent

<t> Picking up UV after a long absence ..New to UV PBEM tho and would like to give it a chance. (WITP PBEM looks a bit too intensive). Anyone interested? I've played allied before, but I'll give either side a try. I'm patched to 2.41 and generally play a turn a day or thereabouts. Drop a line if ...

RE: Ding Dang Dubya

All other hot keys work just fine. I did a new installation after 1.5 came out and patched through 1.3-1.4-1.5. The "w" on my keyboard is in working order too ..[:'(]

...key that is. I'm patched up to 1.5, but I don't seem to have the W-key zone of control thang. Was this in 1.5? Maybe I missed a patch or have a setting wrong? Or maybe I'm doing something unspeakably stoopid like not hitting shift-w? Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Favourite Fighter?

Guess I'm a sucker for punishment....that's why I've always been a fan of the P-39 and Brewster Buffalo (of course, the Russians and the Finns were fans, too). Also like the lines of the P-35 and P-36

Map Extractin'

Does anyone know how to extract and reuse a map from a PBEM game? Had a good random map, but I didn't save it to the maps list...

RE: Most useless Airplane Upgrade

Well, if I recall, the P-400 was slightly crappier than the P-39. Sort of like going from a Pinto to a Gremlin....still, love the way they look...
