RE: install stops

<t> Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I'm having this problem installing the game on Win7. I've got Avira (Free) antivirus installed and have tried variations on all the following to get the game to install (in no particular order):<br/>

WinXP SP3 compatibility mode<br/>

RE: Neat Game on the 2nd Punic War

The prize goes to this game for the strangest graphics I've ever seen of any wargame. Thanks for the linky, I'll have a go with the demo and buy it if it's any good. Field of Glory has me really interested in Ancients.

Saw the trailer. Drooled a bit. It's filmed in the same style as 300 (awesome, awesome movie!) and looks to contain lots of sex and violence, set in gladatorial Rome. Can't wait to watch it.&nbsp;[:)]

By the way, I've been wondering: is the quote from Lt. Winters in your "signature" actually attested? I had just assumed that was just some clever writing for the "Band of Brothers" screenplay.

RE: "Get Lamp": New documentary on those old text-based games

<t> I have some fond memories of the text adventures, especially titles like The Hobbit, Pawn, Guild of Thieves, Kentilla and Subsunk. Melbourne House, Level 9, Firebird, Infocom, Magnetic Scrolls and many other great game developers were famous in their time. Sadly missed. Interactive Fiction (as ...

Flashpoint Middle East. [:)]
Distant Worlds looks pretty nice.
Field of Glory expansion(s).
Lock n Load promises much and I hope it delivers.
Din's Curse.

Any decent wargame or RPG really.

RE: Question about scheduling software

<t> Whether you need a server depends on the number of users. XAMPP and Joomla generate little traffic and almost no overhead. I've had them running on a normal (Dual core, 2Gb RAM) PC servicing 30 users quite happily with forums and flash games. But, from the OP there is mention of an existing ...

RE: Question about scheduling software

<r> I'm guessing here, but the first thing that came to my mind would be some flavour of CMS (Content Management System). They can be set to run locally on a LAN (using something like XAMPP - which takes 5 minutes to set up in Windows) or easily added to hosted webspace. Most CMS's are free and ...

RE: Do you ever get medieval on people?

<t> I bought Mount and Blade when it was in early beta and it's always been a great game and well supported by the huge community at Taleworlds. The mounted battles are really good fun to take part in. I'm not convinced the game improved much when it was finally picked up by the publisher though. I ...
