Neat Game on the 2nd Punic War

Post by SteveD64 »

I thought I'd share this little game on the 2nd Punic War. So far it's only in the demo stage but it looks pretty good so far. Looks very board-gamish and with some nice decision making going on.

I've played the demo about 5 times and got Carthage good and beat in a couple of go arounds (it's a solo game, you are Carthage). Hopefully the rest of the game is as solid.

I dunno, I really like them!  Like you're looking at a drawing from that time period.

I tried the demo some weeks ago and is a really nice "little" game.
There was a thread about it at "The Wargamer"
I absolutely love the graphics too! The ancient looking map is full of personality IMHO! [&o]
I was surprised by how polished the game is for being a beta demo of a "first time" developer: lots of great tutorials, on game manual, strategy guide and help tips, a polished interface, multiple screen resolutions...
Some bigger developers should take note. [;)]
My biggest doubts are that the game seems a little too limited in scope for my tastes. I think such a polished engine could be used for something bigger [:)]
Well, at least i hope the final game has a playable roman side too!

Cheers

It looks more like a drawing from the cave man age instead of that period. [:D] But, if it's ancients I'll try it anyways. It's got to be better than Field of Glory was to me.

I like it, I think they get the style from the Roman roadmaps

How about one of them obscure Scottish words of ill repute that none of us state siders would know let alone pronounce.

The prize goes to this game for the strangest graphics I've ever seen of any wargame. Thanks for the linky, I'll have a go with the demo and buy it if it's any good. Field of Glory has me really interested in Ancients.
2nd Lt. George Rice: Looks like you guys are going to be surrounded.
Richard Winters: We're paratroopers, Lieutenant, we're supposed to be surrounded.

For me it was just the other way around: i tried this demo, got interested back in ancients and then bought FoG [:D]
