RE: Protect Our Grammar!!!!!

I agree entirely with Malthaussen. The English language is a beautiful thing, when it is used correctly. What is more, I say that tolerating bad English only leads to more bad English.

RE: Supply Trucks

Thanks a lot.

To see if I understand this correctly, supply does not move directly from the roads to the units, but is carried via the truck units?

Supply Trucks

Excuse my ignorance, but after reading the manual several times, I still can't figure out what those little supply truck units are for, much less how to use them. Can anyone help?

RE: Infantry marching in step (history)

<t> As far as I know, the only real change between the Seven Years War and the Civil War was a tendency for the rate of speed to increase. Most troop used about 75 paces per minute (which looks paralyzingly slow to us today) around the SYW, later a faster (around 100 ppm) light infantry pace was ...

RE: Group Formations

<t> Large squares - up to full divisional squares - were a feature of successful tactics against the Turks and so would be a good addition. However, these would probably be very difficult if not impossible to implement as they would be larger than the 100 yard hexes. Also the very limited use of ...

RE: 1806/1813 Game

Thanks for the heads-up. Looks like an interesting game...if it is as good as the old BON it will be great.

<t> I've just started looking over this forum for this game, and it looks interesting. <br/>

However, the numbers quoted...400,000 Russians to 500,000 Frenchmen in a single battle...that's nearly twice the size of the largest Napoleonic battle (Leipzig) and even in that case both sides ...

Verdammit Bug

During a battle resolution, the game jammed up and I got the following message;
Access violation at address 00516699 in module 'CampaignsOnTheDanube.exe'. Read of address 00F88014

What's wrong? Anything I can do to fix it?

RE: 1806/1813 Game

Battles of Napoleon? I loved that old game, once I figured out how to play it PBEM!

I just bought COTD and it seems most impressive. I'm looking forwards to any further games in the same system.
