RE: Vanilla game?

Hi Mannerheim,

I'm fairly new too and would like to try my first PBEM game.  Let me know if you are interested.  I would like to play the total war scenario, either side, supply rules of your choosing.

RE: PBEM?

Hi Darknite,

Like you I've been playing some solo games, but I'm ready to try PBEM.  Shall we start a game?

RE: Victory Conditions: One Man's Views

<t> I'm in complete agreement with harrybanana and pretty much everyone else that has responded to this thread. The AV IS BROKEN. I know that some folks have taken to playing with the AV option off, but I haven't heard much about the outcomes of such games. I'm not sure how much fun those games ...

35 here.

Colonial Conquest - now there is a blast to the past. I can remember playing that hotseat with about 4 other buddies back in high school. That was a great game.

RE: Why Take Denmark

<t> While I think there is reasonable debate about the early capture of Norway or Sweden as Germany, the capture of Denmark is a no-brainer. Just like securing Gibralter secures the Med, capturing Denmark secures the Baltic sea. German control of the Baltic guarantees them the resources from Norway ...

RE: The aMDB game

<t> I didn't realize that our thread was so offensive to those not participating in our game. <br/>
<br/>
We are not spamming the forums, we are not creating multiple threads, we are not making gratuitous posts, the thread title clearly labels the game in progress - what exactly is so out of line ...

RE: Can't seem to move my transports....

Do you have any troops or supply sitting in the transports? They cannot move if they have anything loaded on them.

RE: Free Trade (puzzling or bugged?)

<t> Its a bit more complicated than that. There is a sticky in one of the forums (maybe the war room) that gives a very good discussion of this topic.<br/>
<br/>
Let me try to explain, keeping it simple. Lets use Spain as an example. Turn 1, Spain has a resource pool of 3. Germany, through its ...

Bob,

I hope this is our game :)

If it is, don't worry - just replay as needed. However, I'll need far more than this little bug to beat you.

RE: Sub Tech Problems

<t> I think there is some excellent discusion going on here and I'd like to bring up a few more points.<br/>
<br/>
The super sub strategy is often part of the Axis AV strat without Russia ever entering the war. This means that Germany has no need to waste tech/production on tanks or inf. It also ...

RE: question on air movement

<t> No.<br/>
<br/>
If a transport has been used for strat movement, its movement points are reduced to zero. Thus if another transport tries to move thru the first transports sea zone, it will have to pay the full movement cost. The transport that has been used for strat movement of troops ...

RE: Finished with this unrealistic game

<t> Getting back to some of the original complaints expressed in this thread....<br/>
<br/>
One thing that no one has mentioned is the difficulty in teching up ASW on light fleets. Because the WA have so many (and unfortunately most are frozen) the cost of going from ASW 1 to 2 is 12 points I ...

RE: Finished with this unrealistic game

<t> I would like to make one suggestion - although I feel your pain. It sounds like you sent the entire attacking force in at once, if so that was a mistake. The proper way to conduct that battle should have been in 3 phases:<br/>
<br/>
1. Send in the 8 fighters alone. They will each shot at a ...

RE: question on air movement

<t> Doobius,<br/>
<br/>
Are you refering to the movement of transport ships perhaps? Since a transport can move for "free" (expending no movement points) through a sea square containing another transport that has not yet moved, it is possible that moving 5 squares over existing transports actually ...

RE: Unit stack movement.

<t> It is a feature to move a whole stack at a time. When you click on a unit to move it, a little side bar comes up on the right side of the screen. The top arrow is green for tac movement, the blue arrow is for strat movement, and right below that is an icon that looks like a stack of green coins ...

RE: who gets the rp's?

Germany will get a resource point from Nothern Persia, Southern Persia, and Saudi Arabia. I dont recall if Southern Persia has 1 or 2 resources; but if they have 2 then the WA will get 1 of them as well.
