RE: Broken Scale & Stacking - Operation Husky and Overlord

<t> The more I look at it, the more I am convinced that a single corps per hex unrealistically limits offensive concentration. I don't think I would have to try too hard to find examples on the east and west fronts where sides concentrated troops more than this. It's a balance vs realism choice, but ...

Broken Scale & Stacking - Operation Husky and Overlord

<t> I have been experimenting with the game since the 1.08 patch came out, particularly from the Allied point of view. Trying to figure out paratroop and invasion since the manual is pretty spotty on this. Mostly I have been messing with the beginning of the 1943 scenario and trying to repeat ...

RE: Map Scouting?

Depends on how far back civilization fell, and how extensive if any trade/information networks are.

One nice feature is how much you can customize the starting conditions for the world you want to play in.

RE: Unit/Formation Logistics Need Assessment?

I feel like rail networks are an absolute must once you start going mechanized. Fuel definitely is not free on the logistics networks, at least at the ends not between cities.

Unit/Formation Logistics Need Assessment?

<t> Short of looking at logistics requirements of each item in a unit/formation and summing it up, is there an easier way to get an assessment of min/normal/max supply needs for a unit/formation?<br/>

If you think you have a good logistics network for you infantry formations, you will get a ...

I have tried sending spies with this hope in mind, but have never seen any return from them. I guess I need to send more than I have been. I will try that.

RE: AI Logistics?

<t> I am not opposed to irregular forces, but there should be some rationality to it. Like I said this makes sense for Freefolk, they are good at scrounging. However given the environment on most planets in this game, that scrounging seems like it would have to be tied to nearby settlements.<br ...

RE: Air Units in The Ground Game

I will continue my exploration/experimentation with the game.

Two requests if possible:

1) Can you update ground combat odds mouse over include ground support?

2) Can you add a mouse over estimate for ground strike?

Thanks, KC

RE: Air Units in The Ground Game

<t> Alvaro, thanks for the reply.<br/>

From what I have read more than a couple air strikes has no more effect, so I do I have any idea how many to allocate to a unit. Do air strikes have any effect on entrenchment/fortification? If so I have not seen anything in the manual about this. Also ...

Torch in 1942 Scenario?

<t> There does not seem to be a way to recreate the 1942 Torch landings in North Africa, at least starting with the 1942 scenario. US does not have and won't have diplomatic pts needed to declare war for a long time (need 80). The UK builds up enough by about Feb 1943. Even if you declare war there ...

Ignore Refueling During Command?

<t> I had a case where I wanted a construction ship to build a gas refinery at a planet, I had moved it there in anticipation of this. When I commanded it to build the plant the first thing it did was warp out back to a location to refuel. Is there a way to force it to not do this (i.e. risk running ...

Battle of Britain?

Why is Germany prevented from fighting the Battle of Britain? They can fly their bombers there, but no fighters can reach Britain earlier than winter'41 by my calculations. Sending unescorted bombers with seems like suicide.
