RE: Blizzard

<t> I am a newbie to WitE and am reading both your and your opponent's AAR's. Very interesting, well-written and good maps. Thank you for increasing my interest in this game, as it reminds me strongly of the "monster" board games of the past, especially GDW's "Fire in the East", which I played until ...

RE: 12 - 18 December (turn 26)

<t> I'm new to WitE, just bought it about two weeks ago, finished the tutorial and starting - maybe re-starting - a campaign vs. the AI. Wonderful AAR, loki100, a delight to read and to ponder. Inspiring me to actually start the campaign as well as giving me more insight into the game mechanics ...

Problem Selecting Mods

<r> I just completed a clean re-install of SOW:Gettysburg 1.5 from the Matrix website, downloaded and installed the 1.6beta patch, the Napoleonic Mod and its associated CSV file, the Random6 map mod and the Large Map mod. Went to the game, it loaded up fine no error messages. At the first screen ...

What's the Best Force Structure?

<t> New to A.T. and completed only two random scenarios vs. the AI+, using a map with 40% land and towns x 40. I'm not having any trouble in particular as the AI's weaknesses are mentioned in these forums. But, looking at the future with PBEM games against you lads, I'm trying to figure out a good ...

RE: Non-lethal weapon Armies. In the future?

<r> It may well be possible to construct non-lethal weapons sufficiently powerful to "win" a war. Keep in mind, however, that most nominally "non-lethal" weapons are lethal under circumstances of use other than those ideal for the particular non-lethal weapon; e.g., very close range for "rubber ...

RE: Non-lethal weapon Armies. In the future?

<t> A more reasoned reply is this: massive death and property destruction is what enabled the deep cultural and social changes seen in post-WW2 German and Japan. This is only the most recent example of the phenomenon. The failure of the post-Civil War "Reconstruction" in the U.S. is an example of ...

Erik: At this time I'm getting a "404 not found" error when I click on the content found in the Members area, specifically, for the Game Depot/Ladder and for the Battle HQ. Both of these are from outside the Matrix site.
