Steve(sjohnson) and I will be playing CHS SCN 158....the NIK mod CHS. I tried it a couple of times before(I think it was NikMod 5.x or something and flak was overpowered but now it is 9.1 and my opponent thought that the flak was fine after he playtested it) and of course A2A and CV vs CV combat is pretty cool in the Nik Mod so Im excited.

Admiral Kimmel surveys the damage at the end of the day and is amazed that after all the 800 kg bombs and torpedoes that were landed only one battleship was sunk in the attack......BB West Virginia suffered 10 bomb hits and 3 torpedoes but quick actions by the XO allowed them to counterflood in time and the Wee Vee settled slowly onto the muddy bottom of Pearl.....even she will be refloated over time and sent to Bremerton for major repairs and a refit so not one BB was permanently lost to the USN.
Grim news arrives from Wake Island.....the Marines are overrun in maasive attack by the South Seas detachment with gunfire support by BB Yamashiro and BB Fuso.
COMMENTS:
CV Shokaku and CV Zuikaku were positively identified by the Dutch sub SS-019 today in the South China Sea just off the coast of Kuching.
This means that the Pearl Harbor strike force included 4 CVs, 1 CVL and 2 CVEs and at least one fighter daitai was swapped out for Kates.
62 Kates and 25 Vals were lost in the attacks on Oahu.
Overall today, Japan destroys 248 Allied AC vs her own losses of 123 AC in air attacks at Pearl, Clark Field, Manila and Singapore.
You can tell that the Pearl Harbor strike was a bit light on Vals as only 73% runway and 42% service damage was inflicted on Oahu.....normally in CHS its more like 90% plus on both runways and service facilities after 2 strikes by 150 Vals and in CHS the Oahu airfields repair very slowly.....engineer units are rushed from Alaska, Seattle and Los Angeles to Oahu to repair the damage to the airfields. Over 200 AC are loaded in transports on the US west coast today for delivery to the Hawaiian Islands.
