Game release

Post by Lions »

The official announcement of releasing Maximum Football was Feb 15 (yesterday) but I am guessing it will take about a week or two before you can buy the game online. I remember that the game was not going to be release in stores. Or did that change now? Also I am planning on gettting the physical shipment since it is nice to have the box for the game and a manual.

Cheers,

Go BC Lions!!

The online download version will be available for sale early next week. The boxed version should follow within a week of the online version being available and will show up as an option in our store once it's ready.

Erik, will it be the usual Matrix box in that it only has the CD? No printed manual, correct?

Correct, all our game on demand titles come with a full color printed CD, full color printed DVD box and a PDF (_not_ printed) manual. Until we get out print on demand technology going, that will continue to be the case. The PDF manuals have e-book features, including bookmarks and are fully searchable.

Those of our games that have gone on to full retail have also had printed manuals at one point or another, but that's not the standard for our titles.

Erik, does that mean there will be no version with a printed manual for any foreseeable time?

Does the game run in a window, so that one may read the PDF at the same time as playing the game?

Won't having the PDF up in the background harm the 3D game speed?

Will you have a choice of getting the CD ordered and the download as well?

No plans at present, except in the sense that we plan to provide print on demand manuals for all our titles and are working towards that goal.

No, but you can switch between the game and the manual without problems, in my experience. Personally, I printed it out for reading away from the computer - at about 50 pages it shouldn't break anyone's printer.

Yes, as soon as the boxed version is available, the download + box and box only versions will appear in the store. If you definitely want the boxed version, wait for those options to appear within a week of download release.

Well, no, but it does eat up a good amount of ink on an inkjet printer.

That begs the question on the pricing of the given options.
