Quoted from the EA Sports' NFL Head Coach forum by a Wintervalley fan...

"As of today, "NFL Head Coach" will not be "The First 3D Sports Strategy Game" released.

Winter Valley (http://www. wintervalley.com/) Software and Matrix Games (http: //www.matrixgames. com/) have just annouced that Maximum- Football has gone gold and will be released next week.

Now unless EA can shoot lighting out their arses, they will not beat this release date.

Of course you never know what can come from thier hind region these days.

Hmm .. A "Wintervalley fan". Never thought I'd have groupies :)

As for the 'The First 3D Sports Strategy Game' thing EA is going for.. well I have already suggested that neither Coach or Maximum-Football should make that claim. For all it's problems, Front Page Sports Football '99 was the first to do this. And I think their baseball game probably would have qualified as well (don't recall if that was true 3D though)

Yep, we used "first 3d strategy sports game of the 21st Century" in the gold release (to be precise)>

It's not even the first one for EA if you count their Total Club Manager series.... which they should know about.... I would think.... Of course, I'm not sure that it was ever released in North America.

That would beat you guys as being the first in this century though too. Of course, it's a whole nother kind of football. [;)]
