It sounds like it should be a British operation so its unrealistic to use US units in the battle. I reckon you are being duly punished. [:)] B.S. aside, where did you find this battle? I want to play the Caen battle but not seeing a campaign for it, I'm tempted to learn how to make a Caen campaign myself.

This is a long camp. as the canadians but I fudge it time to time and steal other allied units to compliment what I already have.RT

To play as the Canadians, did you select the British long camp and then only purchase Canadian goods? Sounds like a good idea. I tried mixing national units of all the axis one time but it lost authenticity so now I use 100% pure one nation's units only. It gives a kinduv morale bonus to me.

I sometimes purchase enemy tanks and artillery to complement my core. Think of it as using captured weapons. But I don't use them as part of my core force unless I'm fighting a battle that I want to be a joint operation.

I´m playing "Long long road to victory" and I took Free French and Macquis infiltrators in the first two scenarios to reflect the fact that the Vichy forces in Africa were far from solid in their support of the Axis. A novel unit that really proved it´s worth when backed up by Shermans in the 2nd scenario was the Free French motorcycle company. I was able to execute a debilitating flank attack using it. They worked very well in tandem with the Shermans.

While interviewing an anonymous US SF soldier, a Reuters News agent asked the soldier what he felt when sniping members of Al Quaeda in Afghanistan.
The soldier shrugged and replied, "Recoil."

Well,I tried about a dozen things like rechecking prefs and deleteing the Steel PRF save and resetting everything imaginable, cause I thought I had a sweet setup and really wanted to play this one throu. Boiled it down to not being able to sellect { harder difficulty x2} for lack of memory, because I restarted from the last battles results screen and made a considerably smaller but similar purchases and left the difficulty on medium battle and have played this fight to turn 4 already with no trouble. just shows how much of a RAM HOG this wonderful Little?!!! game can be, cause I ,ve got a gig of ram chuggen threw a 2.4 CPU. Also have to admitt that this was the first time in 7 years of playin this game that I've ever thought of changing up the odds, and Its proven too much for my visions of grandeur and crunching capasity of present machinery. Can u believe I actually thought upping the difficulty at this stage of my campaign would lessen the chance of getting a DRAW.[&:] RT

To answer tokyoboys question yes I started a long campaign as the british because they had command of the canadian forces, and sellected all can. after the brit HQ and changed the HQ to can. as soon as they turned up in the change and repair screen between battles 2&3. As a footnote to how I reequip and salvage from enemy nations, My rule is to only take equipment that appeared in the previous battle, or of equivilent year supplied to the Allies or a reverse lendlease play I believe should have happened between the allies and russia. Imagine if there could have been T-34's and some of the KV's rolling at the germans from both fronts in europe!!?[X(] RT P.S. I also love putting indian assault squads on my forward lines or butterfly and recessed "v" or "W" formations of tanks[:D]
